Wanted a quick lunch with a business acquaintance and this venue seemed ideal although parking nearby is a little hit and miss (there is parking close by but doesn't inspire confidence).

Drinks were served quickly and the order for food taken straight after. We both went for the burgers served with blue cheese. Very good and tasty with the portions more than adequate. We wanted a further round of drinks but it took an eternity to get the attention of the staff who were engaged in conversation behind the counter. Again, when we wanted the bill we had to walk to the bar to get some service as the two staff on duty were busy chatting.

Service aside, the food was of a good quality and if you have a Taste card then this venue offers even better value for money. Not particularly busy when we visited which leaves little excuse for the service.

Treated to a surprise dinner with friends.
Food was gorgeous, scallops & belly pork that I could have eaten for starter, main & dessert!
Friends were also delighted with their meal, given the 'dubious' reviews we'd seen on here recently.
Deinitely one i'd recommend & will be re-visiting very soon

This was our third visit. On the first visit the poor service was offset by the excellent food. Unfortunately now the food appears to have deteriorated down to and below the ability of the waiting staff.

The smoked chicken starter arrived pink and the explanation provided was that it was fine because it is not prepared in the kitchen but is bought in ?!

The steak mains were nothing special although not sure you can go far wrong with those however the attempt to upscale with croquet of bone marrow and creamed spinach did little to please.

The chocolate brownie dessert was bland and dry. And an enquiry as to the content of the artisan cheese selection was met with a response of, "it's a selection of cheese".

Certainly won't be returning as there are many better places to eat nearby.
