the museum is great for looking around, its great for children, the natural history with the stuffed animals were very interesting and the gas masks from the war was very useful.

Great, but could do with modernising, not in an architectural way, I mean with bits and pieces like holding an exhibition etc, it seems to be the same things every time I go.

Great for children. First bit is natural history, stuffed exhibits but then you find the history of Ipswich and lots of other interesting bits. Sign up for activity days for children - some regular ones and some one off events in the holidays.

It isn't until you visit other towns and cities that you reallty appreciate the local museum. It is accessable to all, is free and puts on excellent school holiday activities for children at a small cost. You can visit many times and just concentrate on one part or enjoy a day there in the summer with a picnic in the nearby Christchurch park.
