Interesting but ignored just about sums this place up.
I walked in one day when my curiosity overcame me.
I'm gald I did as the place is worth a couple of hours wandering around.

I loved the grounds, the statues and the mansion is really interesting with period antiques. You can even take photos!

For a free attraction the mansion is excellent. The new rooms are well presented. The old kitchen cafe is lovely and on fact the whole park is worth a explore.

A hidden gem of a place with some great artefacts and furniture - not to mention a permanent display of Constable paintings and sketches. And it's free!

Photography is allowed without a charge as long as you don't use flash. And the café does a great sandwich. (A fellow customer said the chips were good too!)

Not really knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. This is quite a small museum but with a great deal to see and the mansion itself is absolutely fascinating. A remarkable collection of works by Constable, Munnings, Gainsborough and others, plus armour, furniture, pottery, etc. - really something for everyone and all free! Well worth a visit if you are in Ipswich.
