This is a wonderfully preserved mansion built by Bishop Wosley in the Jacobean style. The house is full of art and antiques. It has just had a bit of restoration do to it. The grounds are also wonderful to walk through.

Of everywhere to go in the area, in my opinion this is a must. Lovely building and full of all sorts of art including Constable. Some great rooms and exibions from time to time (check their web site).

Beautiful old building with Tudor bedroom, Regency sitting room, Victorian kitchen and toys and Georgian pottery as well as a fabulous art collection including Constables and Gainsboroughs. Tiny but welcome little teashop too. Set in a lovely park with great play equipment, so ideal for all the family. And it's free!

A visit is well worthwhile. Having lived in the Ipswich a ea all my life, my first visit to the mansion was only a couple of years ago. An opportunity to see work by local artists.
