We arrived here for a one night stay and check in was easy and the staff on the desk were exceptionally polite. Our room was on the top floor and overlooking the Swallow pub which is right next door. Despite having thisa room we didnt experience any noise from the pub. The room was of average size with a double bed and a sofa which could extend into further beds if you had small children with you. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. This had a shower over the bath with a good jet of water. A soap dispenser was attached to the wall above the bath and there was an additional one by the sink.
Tea and coffee making facilities were provided and the towels were fluffy and large. There was a flat screen freeview TV attached to the wall which was of a good size. Plenty of storeage space for a short stay and hangers for clothing.
The Swallow pub next door was the place to get breakfast and an evening meal if you didnt want to go far. The staff in the pub were very welcoming. Local real ale was on tap and the food which was not sampled by us but by plenty of families which did use this facility seemed plentiful and nicely presented. Attached to the end of the pub which is great for the smaller children is a playzone area with ball pits and climbing apparatus. Our 2 grandchildren had a whale of a time in here and it was only 32 each for an unlimited amount of time. The area did have a constant member of staff on hand to. Although food wasnt allowed to be taken into this area crisps and drinks were which did seem odd as they catered for childrens parties here. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would use this hotel again when visiting Ipswich.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floor

This is a very new-feeling hotel. The fittings and appliances in the room were new and the room itself was spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely friendly - one even lent my daughter a book when she wouldn't stop crying!

Breakfast at the Brewers' Fayre was great too.

Highly recommended!

Stayed one night in a spacious ground floor room. Excellent clean condition, comfortable bed and very good pillows. Good bathroom and shower plus large, quality towels. Friendly & helpful staff. Excellent value for money. Dinner in the Brewers Fayre was only 6 out of 10 and I hate being greeted with, "Are you alright there?" What does this mean? Does it mean "good evening" or perhaps it means, "may I help you?". If so, why not say that! However, breakfast was very good and gets 9 out of 10.

The rooms are at a wonderful standard with loads of electricity sockets. Hairdryer by mirror and a very large TV screen. Very clean and comfortable. What more could you want - the barman to be a bit more friendly in the evening, but I guess you cant have everything.

Room Tip: Better at back as less noisy

We stayed two nights to meet with friends in Ipswich. Room was cleaned to a high standard as well as being nice and warm. Additional heater in room was available. Staff were really helpful and very friendly, especially offering detailed instructions about parking in town! We did find the 'P's for parking.' Thanks to all and Sue.
The staff at The Swallow were also helpful and friendly, but I do agree with other reviewers, the breakfast was fine, but the evening meal a little dissapointing. Price's average, but food was below par. We too would pay more for something that is less ' pre-prepared.' Perhaps a menu where less, is more, would be better. We would stay at the hotel again, but probably not have a main meal at The Swallow.

Room Tip: A 20 bedroom hotel, very quiet location if you are on a business trip. Good Wi-fi connection.
