Booked for 7.30 as was going to the pictures at 9.30 thought this was plenty of time. Arrived at 7.20 and was seated immediately, orders taken, wine arrived immediately, starters came at 7.50. We were approached by a waiting staff at 8.50 saying Due to staff changeover our order had been forgotten and had not yet been cooked. We told them to forget it as we did not have the time to wait as taxi had been booked to take us to the pictures at 9.
Went to the desk and the young guy apologised and said it was unacceptable, but still charged us full price for our starters and wine,no compensation was offered.
We contacted the manager the following day and was advised that it would be looked into and they would call us back but 1 week later we still waiting, AVOID if you are in a rush.

I went back to Arlingtons for a second visit at Christmas. The first time was ok but not as good as I expected. This time the service was excellent and the food was great!

Great atmosphere and we will definitely be going back.

Booked for afternoon tea for 7 of us and we were the only group in the restaurant apart from one other couple - therefore you would assume that service would be efficient!

After initially promptly taking our order everything just took ages to arrive. Once the tea did arrive we were not provided with milk and we had to wait for a staff member to appear as there was no one to be seen, by the time we got the milk the tea was stewed and we needed fresh pots - which again took ages to arrive!! When our food finally arrived, we were one scone short and had also been provided with some savoury and some sweet scones with no explanation - apparently they had run out of fruit scones but didn't think to let us know - we therefore had to ask for an alternative for the missing scone, it was very awkward and we felt this should have been offered.

Arlingtons could be such a great place with a lovely atmosphere, the food wasn't bad but the staff really let this place down. We had some questions about the menu and our waiter didn't know any of the answers, I'm pretty sure they were fed up with us by the time we left! They also seemed quite condescending when we complained about the missing scone.

We'd had a similar poor experience a year previously at Arlingtons, but we put that down as a one off - I don't think we will be making the same mistake again!

saturday evening not busy due to the snow , however the service was not attentive.
a little too fast to ask if we wanted a drink -i hadnt even had time to sit down! but then when we did order the drinks we had to ask the waiter where they were.
the food was tasty and mussels were delicious
nice ambiance with the live piano music

Needed to be in and out in an hour. Arlingtons offer every combination during their opening hours and even if you are only spending a tenner a head you still feel special. Straightforward cooking, fresh. Casseroles and steaks with fish for variety. Veggie options a little dull but overall I can see why this works and everyone comes back. On the other hand, I've sat with a coffee and a book, then had wine and no one moves you on. Great place.
