I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. The location close to the station was great, although it is a bit of a walk into town for food and drink.
The quality of the room, for the price, was OK. It was small, and the en suite in particular was tiny. However it was reasonably clean. The staff were friendly and there was no problem gaining access to the hotel on arrival (the ability to book in earlier than at many hotels was good). The breakfast was decent, and food was left out for me on the Saturday morning as I had an early start.
My main problem with this hotel was the noise from people who I presume were guests. My room was next to the sitting room on the ground floor, and there were people in and around there all night. They were constantly running up and down stairs, banging doors (including the front door) and talking on their phones outside my room. This literally went on all night and I had virtually no sleep at all.
Thankfully the second night was quiet and the trains didn't bother me, even through I was in a room overlooking the railway line.
I would not stay here again or recommend it.More
