Whenever we walk along the side of the Orme to West Shore we always stop and have a cuppa here. As well as the menu they have a great selection of lovely cakes. Great place to rest and take in the beautiful scenery.

Open for most of the year,on the slopes of the Great Orme,it affords fine views over the town,The Conway Valley, and Snowdonia.Excellent cakes, tea and coffee. The Eccles Cakes here must be Britain's finest-packed with currants, they are a meal in themselves!

Finished off our walk up the Great Orme with a pleasant tea and teacake on the terrace of this nice little cafe.We were blessed with sunny weather and we were able to sit out on the terrace (comfy seat pads provided) taking advantage of the great views over the town ,hills and bays beyond.Situated off the beaten track it is in a great little spot.

Haulfre gardens is one of those hidden gems, tucked away.. the gardens itself is actually larger than it first appears. It covers not just the cafe area, but the entire Orme hillside. There is no doubt it is beautiful. It is also open all night, so people are free to walk through the gardens anytime.

The cafe is pleasant enough, you can sit inside or outside depending on the weather.

The charming thing about the outside space is the birds that come up to you and join you for lunch.. very tame indeed.

The criticisms I have about this place is accessibility and seasonal opening. The gardens are located on a hillside, and this will create difficulty for any less abled people to walk up to the gardens - the road is really quite steep, and there is no service (like a shuttle bus) to aid transport. Also car parking is at a premium, so it is very difficult to park anywhere near the gardens/tea rooms.

Also as far as I know this is entirely seasonal, it generates very little revenue in the winter months so therefore doesn't open? We went last Spring as it was closed, so it is seasonal I think.

Overall: Lovely area, lovely views, and pleasant enough food, but accessibility, lack of parking and seasonal, might well lose this place more visitors than it has the potential of getting.
