We are staying at The Elm Tree and the owners also own The Queen Vic. We were told we would get a 10% discount if we ate at the pub. We had been in the pub just for drinks our last visit to Llandudno at Easter it had been very busy, too busy for what we thought would be a relaxing meal, so initial thoughts were that we wouldn't be availing ourselves of the offer. However on walking past the pub on our way into town we spotted that there is a restaurant up stairs, so we took a chance and booked a table. Well we are so glad we did, what a hidden gem. It could not have been more different to the down stairs pub, it was spacious and well laid out, so you Re not on top of other people like in the pub. It is beautifully decorated (like The Elm Tree too) very elegant...the pub is a traditional, rather old fashioned place, so the restaurant was a surprise. The food was excellent and VERY reasonably priced...even before the discount. £16.95 for 3 courses. A nice touch was the Trivial Pursuit cards on the table, we enjoyed trying them and could hear other diners also doing the same. People were swapping cards between tables. The staff were lovely and the service excellent. Definitely recommend the restaurant , imagine the pub food must be as good as it comes from the same chef.

The pub is well situated at the north end of town, a minutes walk form the promenade. There is an outside patio which catches the early evening sun whiere you can eat too, if it is warm enough. The bar is cwentrally located and has a good selection of real ales, ciders and lagers. The usual selection of spirits and wines is available too. There is a food menu that I have yet to try. The pub is run very well, is spotlessly clean and has a mix of locals and holiday makers. Businees types also descend on the pub too. The owners are knowledgable and friendly and there is occasional live music (havent been there on weekends though, so havent had a chance to listen). A good, well run pub.

Myself and my wife had the beef carvery, at the good price of 2 for £12. The meal was enormous, 5 different vegetables, roast potatoes and mash.

The food was good, just one minor criticism of too much pepper in the gravy.

Will definitely go again.
