Friendly and attentive service, cosy interior and the excellent fool - in fact best lasagne EVER. Love Valeninos!

We were recommended to try here by the hotel we stayed at. Glad we did was an excellent meal and very generous portions. Both of us enjoyed our meal and the house wine! Will certainly return.

Visited here late Nov 2012 - good selection on the menu, fair prices too - from £7.50 for a pizza (very good) to about £18 for a fillet £15.
Good service, and convenient town centre location.
I would be happy to go here again.
Long flight of steps up to the first floor restaurant - with some double swing doors half way up the flight!

Having recently attended Valentinos to celebrate a family birthday (14 people in total) I wasnt overly impressed. Access is extremely restricted up a steep and narrow flight of stairs hindered further by a set of swing doors 1/2 way up resulting in even the slimmer members of our group having to negotiate them sideways. Onwards and upwards to the dining room which lacks any ambiance and resembles a 1990s tea room which isnt a good look ( it does have the mandatory jar of discarded wine bottle corks though, very chic........)

Staff quickly had drinks orders taken and delivered before distribution of our pre-ordered starters, my calamari consisted of dozens of the smallest rings of battered nothing that it was bearly distinguishable, (size varies between 1cm and 2cm) tastless and uninviting and all served on a pile of badly chopped lettuce chunks & cores that showed a clear lack of care and attention to detail. This lack of care and attention was also apparent by the fact that more than one of our group found shell in their prawn dishes.

Pre-ordered mains arrived, they were OK, but bland and swamped in garlic butter, baked pasta dishes were sloppy and uninviting.

Deserts were ordered by several of the group and again i can only describe them as disappointing. My Tiramasu was a plate of sloppy mush with little taste or texture, most other deserts ordered were covered in a cheap milk chocolate sauce that overpowered and spoilt whatever it had been poured over.

Come time to pay the bill, which Valentinos do state wont be individualised, we were given the list of food items in Italian along with a till receipt of drinks. Now ive been to many restaurants, wtih larger groups of people and where the restaurant is actually busy (Valetinos wasnt on the night we visited) and tried to pay the bill for my group within the party. I didnt want the bill itemising or individualising but wanted to tell the lady on the cash register what meals we had had, what drinks we had had, pay that and deduct it from the overall bill. other groups would do the same and if anything was outstanding at the end we would all chip in to cover it, job done, nice and simple and works perfectly well anywhere else in the world........................but not here. She was adamant that she wouldnt do that and simply handed me a calculator a pen and a dismissive look along with a parting statement of they dont do that it takes up to much of her time. HELLO our bill was the meaty end of £500, and whilst we were there they had 4 other tables, two when we arrived who had left, two were still present and eating and she couldnt spare 5 minutes to make their customers experience that little bit easier AND avoid the other diners still present having to listen to people working out their bill at the table. We like Italian food and always travel 25 miles to Llandudno because there are some very good Italian restaurants there, sadly this isnt one of them. food is poor, decor and abience are poor, staff are unhelpful and then there are those bloody stairs and swing doors. Back to Casanovas for us! great food, great service, helpful attentive staff AND IT LOOKS FEELS AND SOUNDS LIKE AN AUTHENTIC ITALIAN RESTAURANT.
