We have stayed at the Lauriston on a few occasions now, this was the first time we took our 13 year-old daughter and her friend. We were originally booked in for just one night, however, due to a cancellation we were able to stay a second night (Carol-Lynn called us to let us know that there was an extra night and gave us the option of taking it). We stayed in Room 11 - top floor to the rear of the hotel, so no sea view. In my opinion, this is not a negative - the room is lovely. Plenty of space with a double bed and bunks for the girls - a cosy bathroom and a good-sized wardrobe, if needed and a flat screen TV with Sky (the girls worked out how to use this before we did!). The room is light and airy and was perfect for what we needed.
Carol-Lynn and Ian as ever, were the perfect hosts. They can give you so much information on things to do and see. They are a lovely couple and everything runs like clockwork. They are there to help in any possible way but are also completely unobtrusive. This particular weekend was the Victorian Extravaganza weekend - it was exceptionally busy but Carol-Lynn was able to advise us to grab lunch just off the main walk - as it was, it was a great choice and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The Welsh weather was also very kind to us and we were able to take advantage of this by taking the girls around the local attractions.
We all enjoyed restful sleep, a fabulous breakfast and being reminded of why we love staying at the Lauriston so much! The girls enjoyed their stay as much as we did and definitely want to return for more of the same.
We will no doubt, see you very soon!
