We've just spent another weekend at this wonderful hotel and found Dave and Michael in top form. It's like home from home with a warmth that makes us feel very comfortable. We first stayed and reviewed Can-Y-Bae three years ago and have found the standards equally as good if not improving. My wife think's Dave's porridge is the best she's tasted while I always go for the full English/Welsh breakfast. Last time we went to the Venue Cymru theatre which is only a few minutes walk away. This time we did more walking visiting Conwy and the Little Orme where seals and their pups were in one of the secluded bays. The Hotel is ideally situated for local activities.

Room Tip: The front bedrooms overlook the sea and the views are excellent. This time we stayed on the top floo...

Our annual retreat to Llandudno and of course Can y Bae - our second home. That is how you are treated at Can y Bae - you are always made to feel welcome and at home there. Good food, very comfortable rooms, and exceptionally clean. Once again Dave and Michael were fantastic hosts always there if you need anything but never making you feel as if you are being watched.
I suffered a bout of the sickness bug while there and was confined to my room for 12 hours Dave and Michael assured me that if I needed anything (day or night) I only had to pick up the phone and let them know. Going to stay in Can y Bae is not like going to stay in any typical hotel because they make you feel as if you are important to them - as I said at the beginning it is like being at home because you are made to feel like one of the family. Thank you once again Dave and Michael for a brilliant week-end even being unwell didn't spoil it.

We have lost count of the number of times we have visited the Can-Y-Bae, as either a couple or part of a group. Both experiences are equally enjoyable and we never get tired of the place. This time was slightly different in as much as we managed to persuade my nearly 87 year old Mom to come with us after years of self imposed solitude. She hadn't left the house for a break for years except to visit relatives.
Dave and Mike were their normal entertaining and charming selves and made us all welcome as usual. They made a big fuss of Mom and made sure she had everything she needed.
As it is Panto season, Dave and Mike had arranged tickets for us at the local theatre on Saturday night. One of the actors was staying with us and after the performance he brought the cast back for a drink which Mom enjoyed immensley.
The food was up to it's usual standard with absolutely top quality, full traditional breakfasts (no longer full English or Welsh) or any variations thereof. The evening meal was superb.
All in all Mom enjoyed her weekend and the good news is, she wants to go again.
We can't praise this place enough. what a shame other places can't be this good.

Room Tip: Sea Views are good (at the front of the hotel. with views of Snowdonia to the rear. Book early to av...

Fabulous first time visit. Dave and Michael were brilliant hosts. The food and service was excellent. Top quality food sourced locally and very tasty. Room was really comfortable with usual facilities. Thick carpeting adding to 'quiet' and relaxing experience. Very homely atmosphere. Bar facilities. Information readily available about the area and locale. Lift available to upper floors, though not suitable for wheelchair users as stairs to lower level and dining area. The whole of the Guesthouse is clean, comfortable and sweet smelling! Looking forward to next visit to Llandudno and would definately recommend to friends and family. Will definately re-visit and look forward to it!!

We, that is myself and my dog, were made very welcome. The room was ideal, being easy to exit without disturbing other guests. Breakfast was superb, with wonderful coffee. The hotel is ideal for theatre visits, as it is only a short walk to the theatre. I have recommended the hotel to many of my friends.

Can-y-Bae is a small Bed and Breakfast in an excellent location on the seafront near the pier, town centre, Venue Cymru, rail station, bus links, etc.
When you arrive the place looks fab from outside - freshly painted and well kept exterior.
Inside the place is a triumph - absolutely spotless with good mix of contemporary leather sofa's and chairs - a baby grand piano (I think it was) in the main lounge - warm inviting.
The owners Michael and Dave were both welcoming, friendly and informative.
Our room was a sea facing double on the top floor. There wasnt a great deal of room to move around in but aside from that minor grumble the room was well appointed, spotless and we loved it. Good bath, shower and toilet room with plenty of room and clean, fresh towels and complimentary soaps/shampoos.
The room contained trouser press, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. There was a flat screen TV with subtitles available for hard of hearing like me. It was a small TV but again I didnt ask for a larger one for my poor vision. Free wi-fi with instructions on how to access it in the information pack. It worked well.
Bed was lovely, comfortable, good clean bedding and plump pillows. Great for a relaxing on and looking at the sea view.
We didnt have evening meals but the breakfast was superb. Usual cereals, fruit and juices etc with a choice of breakfasts. I had a full one each day - everything was cooked to perfection and bacon, sausage, eggs, black pudding, etc all tasted like good quality products. Lovely dining room, friendly helpful waitress, fab quality all around.
The bar stocked Welsh beers and ciders etc - great choice and taste.
Basically its a fab place and most other guests were repeat visitors which says it all really.

Room Tip: Room 33 is lovely but a little compact - you may wish to see if a bigger room is available.
