40 Stroke members & carers from Nottingham. Decor & building very tired. Disabled facilities limited. No ground floor disabled toilet. Lift is tiny - no access with electric wheelchair. My bedroom on 3rd floor was spacious, very clean & adequate although shower leaked to below. Staff shortage was apparent, but those; there; were brilliant. Hot water was always available and the food was first class with a varied choose. The evening entertainments were excellent. Now to the manager of that week - so versatile - Receptionist, switchboard, waiter, barman, fire security, luggage collection, fetched newspapers and was expert in moving scooters to & fro as space was at a premium. Always with a smile (well done him) We wondered when he slept. Interesting visit.
(One gets what one pays for) Last morningat 7am my carer went to set his case outside the door when it was whipped from his hand by who else. Yes it was that man again.

Room very small but had all facilities & only stayed 3 nights so OK.
Food well cooked, hot , a reasonable amount & decent choice.
Bed rather hard but suprisingly comfortable, slept like a log!
Staff very helpfuf & friendly.
Hotel a bit run down but what do you expect for that price?
Would definately stay here again- if only for the breakfasts.

£50 a night is far to high a price for the room we stayed in(room11) ,if you go to any hotels in Spain they have plenty of ROOM ,some bath rooms are bigger than rooms in some the UK,if the hotel has a coach parked out side ,avoid it because it usually poor quality and service the food will also be of poor quality.

I cannot believe Grand Tours UK are going to use this dump again for theire clientsagain next year!!!

The front of the place looks really delightful with the broken flower pots and the even more delightful metal thing containing peoples dog ends more so when they have been rained on.

Bathroom a joke - I have seen bigger cupboards no hot water and no shower.

Decor tatty & so out of date, lift needs a makeover.
Felt sorry for most of the staff , manager needs to go on a management course and learn to talk to the guests.

I work as a coach driver, and had to stay in this hostel twice now. Both times have been as bad as the first, and cant imagine the next time will be any better. SOME of the rooms are nice enough, but if you're not a private booking individual, you'll be in the same hutches as the rest of the rats. I've travelled a LOT in my career - but can honestly say this ranks among the worst ever. The place is quite literraly falling apart - from the crumbling masonry at the front, the subsidence, leaking roof, dodgy plumbing, erratic hot water supply, TCP sprinkled everywhere to mask the smell of damp and a lift that's as old as the hotle itself. Food is adequate in portion size, but every possible corner, every penny-pinching scheme has been used to bring it down from 'good' to 'you're actually serving this?!'... instant mash, cheap bread, stale rolls, thin custard. And the staff seem to take it in turns cooking - the porter is the waiter is the cook is the manager is the barman is the receptionist. Some guests said to me they thought it was great - others despised the place. I concluded that those in favour might just have far lower expectations and standards than is the norm in the year 2010 (its not 1910 after all). Make no mistake - this is one baaad hotel. You might leave thinking you've had a nice time - but in my experience, you'll be in the minority. If you're travelling independantly - keep driving, there are better places around for the same money, and given the fact that the owners have had this place for around 20 years, there's no excuse for letting it get as bad as it has, or standards slip as low as they have.
