Read all the reviews and here is my experience ok - location is in front of the beach so 35 secs and your out the hotel and on the beach! Hotel is mainly full of retired people so friendly, quiet and relaxing. Breakfast is fab, full cooked English, racks of toast, jam and butter too, fresh orange, tea and coffee, cereal, porridge and fruit. Reception is great, warm and friendly and nightly entertainment varies each night and superb. Disability hire is at the side of hotel and £12 for a scooter a day! Mum got sorted in no time. Room was fresh, clean, basic but roomy with a sea view! All in all a superb experience and booked with family to be here over Xmas

I find most of the Tripadvisor reviews reflect my own experience.

This is an old, family run hotel that is desperately in need of a full makeover. I do not think it rates three stars.

Our room was strange. It was large enough but the bath/shower/toilet was very cramped and the wash hand basin was in the bedroom itself. There was no room to hang bath towels, however, we left them on the radiator and they were replaced each day. The furnishings were dated and worn and consequently appeared dirty. The windows were filthy.

We were there during a really hot spell and the room was like an oven all day and night. The windows would not open apart from one which opened about 6 inches. We asked the staff for a fan and were told that would not be possible. They had no fans and there were none for sale in the shops or online. We asked about getting the windows open and were told ‘they are sash windows and the sashes are broken, there is nothing we can do’. I understand these hotels are in a conservation area and windows cannot be modernised but it is possible to repair sash windows.

With respect to the ‘dining experience’, my observation is that the hotel gets most of its bookings thru coach firms and the staff were focussed on meeting the needs of the masses of these mainly elderly folk, ignoring us. There were not enough staff to cope but they all worked hard and were friendly, helpful and polite when you could get their attention. However, there was one male waiter who appeared to think he was part of the entertainment. I found him unamusing and his response to my complaint about waiting too long was obnoxious and his attitude and appearance repellent.
The dining area we were assigned was drab, smelly and worn. It did not appear clean. Common areas like hallways are the same.
As other visitors have remarked, the food at dinner is remarkable in that it is limited, boring, bland and often inedible. Avoid the chips at all costs. I do not know how they can put the word ‘chef’ on the menus. Breakfast was better with a selection of cereals, tinned fruit and eggs, bacon, sausage etc. but they appeared to run low/out so don't be late! My advice would be to go bed and breakfast, eat dinner out.

Reading other reviews, it seems that repeat customers may get special treatment which is what one might expect from a family run hotel.

On the plus side, the location is very good and Llandudno and the Ormes are impressive. The beach and promenade are just across the road, the pier is a short stroll away, there are shops and restaurants close by.

It sounds as if the hotel pool might be the reason Chatsworth House Hotel gets three stars but the pool was out of action for our entire stay. I took a look at it. It is in the basement and not particularly appealing.

Bearing in mind that we are usually on low cost holidays, I feel we have had better value elsewhere and would not stay here again. The pleasant staff we encountered did not compensate for the the food or the condition of the hotel.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 children, it is in a prime location and we got a lovely warm welcome when we turned up. Made to feel like family. Our room was clean and all the staff couldn't do enough for us. Food was good. Kids enjoyed the pool. Next time I am in Llandudno I will definitely stay at the Chatsworth House again.. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

We were here before about 4 years back, the rooms are pokey but okay bath was dirty though the other room we had curtains were hanging off like a piece of the ceiling paper.
Menu are non existent - in the morning you tick your main meal requirements from a very limited typed paper. The first day the soup was out of this world! excellent! but then it went downhill from there (chief left?) the rest of food was acceptable but little room for choice.
Service was spasmodic - and staff the same.
However, all in all it was not bad - had i paid top dollar for this holiday i would be more than upset.

Room Tip: I wanted a single and double close to each other so perhaps I restricted my options for better rooms...

This is a lovely, welcoming, family run hotel which is in an ideal location- across the road for the beach and a short stroll to the pier, perfect for families. The hotel has an indoor pool which my kids enjoyed!

The rooms are clean; the staff are very helpful and friendly; and the food was very tasty. We felt very at home here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit both to Llandudno and The Chatsworth. We will definitely visit again.

Myself and my girlfriend spent a couple of nights in this hotel whilst visiting Llandudno recently and we would of happily of stayed here for our entire stay! Lovely family run hotel, friendly staff who could not do enough for you, the food was really nice and the best things about this hotel are the sea front location and the lovely swimming pool! We would definitely book to stay at this hotel again!
