“DON'T GO THERE!”
Reviewed October 28, 2009

Our double ensuite room turned out to be a tiny room with a queen size bed. Walked into the bathroom to find dead flies all over the floor and shower.
When I asked for another room was given one slightly bigger. No flies but was just as dirty.
Asked for my money back and was told that he couldn't because of the computer.
we ended up driving home upset and angry.

this hotel stood out in the row of beautiful victorian hotels as it was in need of a face lift.. paint was dirty and peeling ..we were met by the un friendly owner who insisted on payment up front .. he was very reluctant to let us see the room first.. a sign in reception said no refunds given.. we'd never seen that before.. the room was large with 2 double beds but was a double room .. we wanted to leave but having booked on line were worried he would still take our money which was £100 for 2 nights..that would have been a good price but the bedroom was thick with dust on skirtings and spilled coffee stains .. the large sea view window was covered in bird poo.. this could have been removed.. the wooden chair was spotted with paint..the shower room was mouldy and dirty.the shower didnt stay up the pole..the ceiling looked ready to fall in.. breakfast was awful .. cooked food had been pre cooked and kept warm..it was dried up luke warm.. quite discusting.. we asked for it to be heated in microwave ..it came back no hotter... we wished we had'nt booked as lots of vacancies.. other guests we talked to were totally dissapointed too.. the hotel bar was not open during our stay either.. we would never stay here again.

Firstly...if it was'nt for comedy value we would have been devestated !

Arrived late on a Friday with nowhere to stay so opted for the perfectley located Elisnor .

On check in were greeted the Manager who offered us two rooms....not much else available anywhere and we not planning to stay in the Hotel so checked in and headed for the room to drop the bags off . The room was small and cold...the Window didnt shut and for those who have previously commented....the re-wiring still wasn't done ! Went out for a few drinks and come back and opted to go up to the room in the lift....gods honest truth the lift was smaller than a phone box ! We laughed all the way up but panicked as every laugh and giggle made the lift creak and strain and if we had of got stuck in there....well it wouldnt be a very pleasent experience !! Breakfast was poor...I went down or a drink early on the Saturday ( just a drink of Juice or tea nothing else ) and was told to go and make one in my room if I wanted one ! As for the room..the shower was smaller than the lift...toilet seat was broken and the towel provided ( I say towel because you get one ) was no bigger than a single piece of andrex....but not as soft .
Moving onto the facilites.....the Bar was closed for refurbishment ( I think permentley ) ..the lounge was small and stinky and the Dinning Room ( that was on the bloody sign and no its no the Welsh spelling for Dining Room ) was like a 1960's old folks home , Dont believe anything you read on there website apart from the Ideal location the rest is well....crap !
This is not a Hotel...more like a Hostel or Boarding House ( should be boarded up !! )
We still had a great weekend in Wales ....but would only ever go to this particular Hotel again to stand outside and put people off staying !

I booked this hotel for one night for myself, partner and my mother, as it was very cheap for a prime time in the year. As we walked in the was a rank smell, dust lined the carpets and it was very dark and unwelcoming, (not something you expect in Llandudno). On booking in the owner asked me to pay the £75 upfront, which was quite strange, but wanting to think the best i did and proceeded to our rooms.
The double bedroom had dirty bedlinen and towels, curtains hanging off the rails, wires dangling down, filthy en-suite and a very sticky suspect residue on the coffee table. In disgust we went to the look at the single room which my mother would be staying in. This had stains on the wall above the bed and the rest the same as in the double bedroom.
After taking a few pictures to make formal complaints to the AA (it holds 2 stars!), and the Llandudno council hotel board we went downstairs and demanded a refund.
DON'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL! I don't even want to imagine the state of the kitchen and elsewhere within the hotel. Luckily we got rooms at the Can-y-Bae which was everything anyone could ask for in a hotel.

We walked in, and straight away we were horrified! Desperately needs painting inside and out, wires hanging out out of celing, dirty and run down! we went to our room and was totally disgusted! it smelt of what i could only describe as a smoke and damp mixture! walls were damp and room was small and pokey! we went to complain and was offered another room, we went to that and it was just as bad! even the matress looks like its 20 years old, I wouldnt let my worst enemy sleep on it! we went back to reception and complained again, the guy on reception (who baisically couldnt give a crap) said well we have no more rooms, we told him we would be staying and left! DONT GO THERE! IT REALLY IS YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE! and im sure i wouldnt want the breakfast there, wouldnt even like to think what the kitchen looks like!

I stayed in Llandudno last week for 2 nights with my husband as part of a road trip we took. We booked this hotel through hostelbookers, as I don't mind youth hostels as they are cheap. This place was by far the cheapest place to stay in Llandudno and our room had a sea view which was superb. For £25 a night each I thought it was brilliant. The out side of this hotel looks awful, it desperately needs a revamp. The inside was clean but its an old place and they need constant maintainence which costs money. Our room had new furniture except the easy chair, and an adequate shower room. Even our bed was new and very comfortable, and the white sheets were lovely and I slept really well. The breakfast was good for the money paid. You could have either cornflakes or weetabix, they brought us orange juice and tea or coffee. Then cooked breakfast and a rack of toast with jam, marmalade etc. I was full up and they offer more toast, I thought it was good. The hotel did have a small lounge that we never went in as we were always out, and the hotel has a bar but I never saw it open which is a shame, as if it were used they would hake money to refurbish the place. By the looks of it the re-wiring was being done when we were there. Parking in Landudno was not a problem. Dont bother with the hotel car park, can only fit 2 cars! It only costs £3 to park in front of the hotel all day so thats what we did. We had a great time up at the ski centre, do go up there the sno-tubes were great fun. We went on a day trip to Rhyl and personally I'd have prefered to go there. Its much more lively more for younger (ie under 60) people to do. Llandudno is a lovely town with lovely prom but felt a bit like gods waiting room even in the middle of the summer holidays!
