I suppose everything is relevent and it depends what you expect for your money. We found the room was great, the sea views fantastic and the the location really good as its not far from the town but not noisy. The staff were friendly and polite so there are no issues there.
The breakast was fine with choice of cereal, toast and/or cooked breakfast (though comments that the beef bacon (what the hell is that anyway??) are like the insole of a shoe were quite truthful) and the room is fine if you are planning to get out and about and sample the surroundings and alcohol. If you are planning to spend alot of time in the hotel you would probably prefer one with entertainment anyway.
We were quite sceptical when we read the reviews after booking the hotel but being a late booking on August Bank Holiday weekend we didnt have alot of choice but we were pleasantly surprised which is the reason we posted. Hope this helps............

Right, I just want to throw in my thoughts on this hotel for what it is worth. The location is excellent, right on the promenade with the Great Orme and a variety of bars, restaurants and the town centre shops all within 10 minutes walk., Like much of the accommodation in Llandudno; this building dates back to the Victorian era; ergo you will not have all the modern advantages of capacious car parks and lifts; i.e. this isn't a Hilton or even Premier Inn. Therefore, if you have problems with stairs and (as we did) find yourselves on the top floor, you will struggle. Having said all that; it was inexpensive (a double for under £90.00 for 2 nights with breakfast included) is pretty good. The room was small but comfortable and the reception staff (contrary to what others have said on this hotel) were friendly and helpful; they printed off a map to the restaurant where I celebrated my birthday and offered to help with luggage.to our rooms. I find if you are warm and friendly to people and polite, they will reciprocate; if you are miserable they will reflect this back to you.

staff were good and seemed friendly enough when you had a problem !!!! first room was dirty door to toilet black where everyones hands touch door not been cleaned for a long time toliet reeked of urine not even a freshener put in to mask smell bed broken mugs chipped and stained second room better but very basic plenty of rooms unused so why put some one in such a dirty room when clean room free. english breakfast beans edible fried tomato not cooked through beef rasher was rock hard and sausage never tasted anything like it more like one of those hard dog treats you buy even staff said not impressed by it if cleaner room given first may not have had as bad a review but that sort of thing just annoys

The room left a lot to be desired when we eventually got into it. Skirting boards have'nt seen a cleaning cloth since Adam was a lad. The quilt cover only covered half of the quilt and was inside out to boot. Of the two windows in our room one would not open and one would not close. The en suite....loo seat was loose, shower cubicle was held together with grey duct tape, the vanity sink was'nt bad apart from the dreadful curtain hiding a multitude of god knows what beneath. The hotel bar closed at 10pm???? whats that about? Dinner was advertised at £12.50 actual cost is £15.50 the ad also failed to say that it would be served at another hotel 1/4 mile away. Breakfast, beef sausage, beef slice = dreadful, would'nt have given it to next doors dog. We booked for two nights but only stayed the one and will defo not be returning.

I've read some of these reviews, perhaps if you want to spend lots of money at a posh hotel then please do go ahead, but perhaps you need to look beyond the facia.
The hotel's sister a few doors down has recently had a complete make over. The turn now is for the Elsinore. There is a new manager there, James, he's a great guy and know's what his mission is. Please take into account that it needs a lot of tlc, but for heavens sake don't wipe the hotel off completely.
The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Beef bacon isn't my idea for breakfast but was actually very tasty.Perhaps we all expect what is 'the norm' for breakfast, but foodwise there was no problem whatsoever. The lift being out of order was a problem, but nothing that couldn't be overcome. For a cheaper priced holiday you do not get the Ritz!!!
I'm most certainly going back later in the year.
Thank you to the team, hang in there coz it will all come good in the end. xx

Seemed cheap but was expensive for what it was.
Loaction Excellent,
Staff courteous and almost apologetic.

Enter through a shabby lobby, with a TV lounge with wall bench seating on one side and an underfurnished 1950's bar (not intentionally themed) on the other side of the hallway.
The lift was out of order, and the age of the signage saying this suggested that this had been for some time.
The room was disgraceful.
Family Room.
Two double beds - they didn't match in size or look. The room looked like a bad charity shop display but worse. The beds, which were made beautifully, had no valances thus exposing tatty divan bases. The bathroom was worn beyond what should be acceptable, sealant was pealing away and grime lined every join in the 1950s panelling. The internet worked intermittently, better with the room door open, and even better in the lobby. Paintwork was chipped, our bathroom door didn't close, and there were signs that every door and frame had 20 coats of tatty, wdiscoloured white gloss.

Breakfast buffet was limited to cereals and toast.
The milk was sour and I had to let the staff know. They were quick to replace it.
No bacon in the full English breakfast which you could order - beef rashers instead. Sausages hard and deep fried. One plus, tomatoes were fresh and not tinned.

Promotional material for the hotel boasts free parking. Free Street Parking is available between 4pm and 10am. The hotel has no parking facilities of its own.

In summary: Bed was comfortable and clean. Facilities were poor. Shower had hot water with good pressure. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was awful to middling. Decor was out of date and very shabby, cleanliness - questionable. In short. what was supplied was totally unacceptable for the price paid.
I have long been an advocate of independent hotel operators, however the owners of this hotel and others like them are the reason why awful chains like Travelodge, Holiday Inn etc have been able to get a foothold and drum out great independent hotels. When i arrived at the Elisnore, I yearned to be staying at the Travelodge Express !

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel.

The things we liked were:
The price
The location
The open verandah (most of the hotels on the Promenade are glassed in)
Nice staff

The things we didn't like were:
The beds (seem very old and creaky - although to be fair, quite comfortable, and more importantly clean)
The beef rather than pork products at breakfast
The non-functioning lift

On the whole, we would stay again as it is a very cheap hotel in a good location in Llandudno. Don't book it for a special occasion or if you are very fussy though - then I would recommend the Imperial or St George's Hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for a low floor. Don't expect pork for breakfast
