There were two different boat trips leaving from LLandudno on the day of my visit, and at £4 each I just had to do them both!
The first trip was on the 'Sea-Jay', and comprised of a scenic journey around the pier and the Great Orme. Some snippets of history were given during the trip, and it involved some fantastic views of the back of the pier and Orme that you would usually never see. This was a quite leisurely cruise and is well worth doing if you want to see the sights of the Great Orme from a completely different viewpoint.
The second trip was on the speed boat, which is not for sight seeing but just pure fun! It goes quite far out to sea and it caught some good waves and got splashed a few times. As per usual on these kind of trips, there was some tight manoeuvring and plenty of bouncing up and down on the waves.
Both boat trips leave from just near to the pier, and a man on the promenade was advertising them throughout the day. I think they left every 30 minutes or so, and you pay as you go, no need to book. The best trip was probably the Sea Jay because of the unique views it gave, but both trips are well worth doing and definitely worth the modest price of entry.
