I must disagree entirely with the review posted previously about this establishment - Ok, I must start by saying that the review of the entertainment of an evening time is not really a review of the "restaurant", which I think is unfair. I have been frequenting this premises for nearly 4 years now and feel i must reply to the post placed quoting this premises as "rowdy". There is a fine line between a public house being "rowdy" and "lively with an atmosphere". I can only say that I feel the premises have been done a great injustice by the recent review. The Kings Arms is well known for it's Karaoke and Disco every Friday and Saturday night and caters for people of all ages, young and old as a proper traditional pub, also the pub is well known for showing the football and sports games on big screen. It just so happened that the males in question in the previous review who were "rowdy" the evening in question were the Wales International Under 25's Rugby team, celebrating their win in a recent rugby match, I know because I was there, so the volume level was raised slightly above normal as The Kings Arms I imagine support local youth teams and welcome them into their premises where others probably shun them away. It is not a wine bar, it is what it is. It's a proper public house with proper public house values. I must defend also the bar staff, the door staff and the management who, considering the volume of customers on the evening did their jobs impeccably, making us all feel welcome and safe as there was not one single disturbance the whole evening, which cannot be said for a lot of the other local bars. I must say in the 4 years I have been going there the DJ is polite, considerate and prides himself on having the latest music and karaoke songs, as well as playing "to the crowd" - maybe it was too much to request a certain song or maybe the reviewer is against the whole concept of a lively great karaoke/disco atmosphere? Anyways, please, if you are reading this and think otherwise, this is a site for people to review the restaurant, which I thought meant the food and the hospitality? Thank you.
