Think there must be 2 Headlands Hotels in LLandudno because the one we stayed at was not the warm, welcoming, clean, gastro delight one bulled up in these reviews. Be warned! The true reviews will mention the dirty reception area stacked with boxes; the dog laid out full length on the bar seating; room refreshments consisting of tea bags stuffed in an old tin and Horlicks sachets that had gone off; junk shop bedroom furniture. Breakfast wasn't exceptional - no offer of more toast or coffee either. The place needs a refurb, the only good thing being the premier view from the breakfast room. Paid a lot of money for the night's stay as well. Best advice - stay at the Premier Inn at Little Orme. That has the same view but from the other end of the bay. The rooms are first class. No comparison.

We are a young married couple, well travelled and used to staying in a wide variety of accommodation, we are not fussy and have tried to give an honest opinion of the hotel.

Sadly in our opinion it did not live up to the ratings and is definitely not the luxury accommodation as described on the hotel's website, although it appears to have a loyal customer base of older clients and those who travel with dogs.
When we checked in we were shown to our room by the owners' mother with no sign of the warm welcome that we had read about and were looking forward to, when we later met one of the owners he was very outspoken with his "personal" views which made us slightly uncomfortable.
There was a general smell of cabbage that permeated through the reception areas, there was also a smell of dog but we were expecting that and didn't let it put us off but this was overpowered by the aforementioned cabbage smell,
The décor is very tired and dated, in definite need of a refurbish, the bedroom was in no way comparable to the pictures on the website; there was a thick layer of dust on the top of the 4 poster, and the bed was on blocks of wood! The bathroom was ok though.

Plus points are
- It is ideally located for walking up the Great Orme.
- Breakfast was good and the owner tries to ensure that you have a sea view at least once during your stay.

We would not stay here again, it is definitely overpriced and would not recommend it.

Whenever we visit this hotel we know we are going to be welcomed and treated like the owners really want us to be there.
We also know that our rooms will be clean and comfortable and in our case magnificent views. One thing for sure we didnt once leave the breakfast or dinner table feeling hungry. We invited some friends who now live in the area to join us for dinner at the Headlands on the Saturday evening and they were so impressed with the food they made the comment "We would like to return the favour but how the hell do you follow that" With great difficulty as it honestly does take some beating.
I reccomend it highly and if you just want to relax and do some great sightseeing, come back have a couple of drinks while having some friendly banter with Ray the owner who is a real character with a sharp sense of humour. I forgot to mention you get a bugle call to dinner, just a bit of tongue in cheek regimentation which lends itself perfectly to the atmosphere and ambience. Keep it up Ray and family ...We will return.

This is a very good place to stay. It's hard to imagine a hotel in Llandudno in a better location, on the side of the Great Orme with stunning views across the bay. It is perfect for going into town, only five minutes away from the pier, and great for walking on the Orme too. The hotel is clean with friendly and helpful staff and breakfast was good.

My two lurchers were made very welcome, being made a fuss of every day and were even provided with their own towel! The owner's lurcher is stunning and exceptionally well behaved and I didn't detect a whiff of dog despite his presence, my two dogs and two other dogs also staying at the time!

This was our second time at the hotel and I would definitely go again.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to stay in the Llandudno area, the hotel has great views and boasts a very cosy bar area! Food was delicious and service was always prompt and friendly.
We had a great stay and will be returning later on in the year-money permitting!
