“Don't let Carol B's review deter you - this is a lovely hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Just returned from our 1st trip to Llandudno, and had picked The Headlands, due to pics of the views on their website. We weren't disappointed - our room (No 23) had a wonderful view of both the Bay, and the town - in my opinion, this hotel has the best position/views in the whole of Llandudno, and has the benefit of decent parking too. The room was clean and had everything you wanted - being tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with the building itself - if you want an Ikea look, this wouldn't be the room for you.
The food was lovely, the bar very reasonably priced and Ray, Tanya & the staff were very friendly, with nothing too much trouble - giving the hotel a personal atmosphere you wouldn't get in many other hotels. The 'pet' seagulls were very quiet, and keep any others away (so you will get a decent night's sleep), and Charlie the dog is a real gent! To summarise, I'd definitely return here again (as a lot of guests already do), and hope it's not too long before we do!

Room Tip: Definitely worth the little extra for a sea view room

stayed 2 nights after seeing the room had it not been my daughters birthday celebration i would have left at once it was very small full of old fashioned second hand furniture the kettle was stood on a stool in the corner it was a room that you would spend as little time as possible in 2 light bulbs did not work and the toilet seat was broken bed was hard not the best nights sleep i have had. had to sleep with the window open very warm with the room being so small so outside noise and seagulls were a problem we payed £90 per night and this hotel does not warrent this kind of money the owner did nothing but moan about how much everything was costing him we were glad to get out never again

Room Tip: ask to see the room first before agreeing to stay

Fantastic view from the hotel over the whole of Llandudno. Great too to test your fitness walking up the hill to it and it is the start of a walk over The Great Orme. Hotel owners Ray and Tanya are superb, both very friendly and full of information about where to go to enjoy the day. This hotel does accept dogs as Ray is a great animal lover, Charlie his dog is a charmer, and he also has two seagulls in his family who call evetry morning for their full English. Enjoyed every minute of the stay there which was 3 nights. Superb breakfast too.

Room Tip: We had 33 fabulous views from it

This hotel is brimming over with history. You get a great feel of its experienced past from the two storey galleried hardwood staircase - the walls of which are lined with photos and paintings from previous eras.

The hotel has the best view possible of the sea front and the vista from all the front rooms is incredible. Our loft bedroom was probably the highest hotel room in Llandudno. We could see all the way from Colwyn Bay to Anglesey. Amazing.

The hotel is seamlessly run which takes a lot of doing for such an enormous structure with its 4 storeys and numerous offshoots. The management & staff are very experienced, extremely accommodating and very friendly. There is a definite personal touch element which is neither intrusive nor overbearing. Just right in fact.

Breakfasts are stupendous!

I should add that this hotel is dog friendly. If you think pets and hotels don't mix, this isn't for you.

Friendly hotel and would recommend it to a friend. Parking in Llandudno is a pain but the owner jealously guards enough spaces at the end of the road for his guests. Anywhere else would be impossible. The hotel has an Edwardian air with plenty of pictures of royalty around. Breakfast is great in a lovely sunny well decorated room. A word of warning, and you are warned of this on the web site, plenty of stairs with no lift and a steep climb up the hill to the hotel. Providing you only go in and out once a day there is no problem, but the view is worth it (the sea gulls think so).

Room Tip: I guess sea view first floor would be worth paying a little extra for.
