What to say? We were four couples of different ages staying here to celebrate an anniversary. We expected the rooms to be 'tired' as everyone says, but what was most disappointing is that clearly no one gives a damn. The waiting staff are great, busy and clearly stressed out, but the management were appalling and constantly absent. Even on checkout there were no thank you's or even a question to enquire as to how your stay was - perhaps because they know what the answer would be?!

The food (breakfast and main meal) is all pre-cooked, plated and delivered literally as you ordered it. It was edible, but we actually chose to go elsewhere on the Saturday night because we simply couldn't face what was the culinary equivalent of being served school dinners in a morgue! It is such a shame that the hotel has let itself go as the location is amazing. It is almost as if everyone has just given up.

Room Tip: The rooms that face the sea or the sea / side have been renovated in the 1980s, so you many get a la...

We had two nights at the Ambassador hotel on a groupon deal. We checked in at 3.00pm, which was quick and simple, the manager gave us directions to our room which was on the second floor. The bedroom was spacious with en suite bathroom which was compact with shower over bath and plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee facilities. The bed was a little hard but we still had a good nights sleep. The only down side to the room was the emergency exit...... yes you read it right... EMERGENCY EXIT in our room, so incase of evacuation make sure ur up first and dressed before other resident come through the room. lol.....
Breakfast was good, with a choice of fruit juices, cereals, cooked breakfast items and tea/coffee, and served by friendly staff.
We would stay at the Ambassador again when we visit Llandudno.

Arrived and given rooms ,Thought I had been given smoking room as smell almost choked me. went back to reception but was told all hotel was no smoking and had no more rooms available and lovely housekeeping man came to spray room but it would of made no difference suppose its people who have no respect to rules not the hotel s fault. They brought new quilt and cover and pillowcases good try but still awful room was so dull and dingy like they never been decorated since the smoking ban .My sister and husband stayed too they had paid like us for a upgraded room theirs with walk in shower joke you had to reverse in to use the loo We tried to find other accommodation but were all full as busy weekend with tri athlon. So as we did not want to drive all the way back we tried to make the best of things. went in room as least as possible. meals were ok breakfasts were nice staff lovely our deal included meal on second night which again was nice Martin our server very nice and had a smile. Not a hotel I would like to go back to or recommend but staff do their best with what they have to offer.

Have just returned after a 3 day break to celebrate our anniversary, on arrival asked were the car park was, and was told it was full and to find space on the front, after my husband drove round for over an hour finally got a space, was given keys to room told on the 3rd floor and no other information, i have got to say it was like stepping back in time the room was awfull and the shower, well all i can say is my grandaughter would have struggled, so we went to reception to be moved told us to come back in a few hours, so a ten that night we moved from 317 to 312, room was still the same but had a bath, the only problem there was when you put the taps on you could'nt turn them of again. staff were very polite but the management need train them a bit more, there was confusion at the bar regarding the price of drinks the difference being from £6.75 to £10.75 wich is a lot i blame the management not the staff for this, the room need to be modernised, the lounge, restaurant and bar were decorated to a high standard a shame about the rooms, as for lift well you will have to try this for yourselves. There is also a lack of organisation with the breakfast as we always had to ask to be served, this is mainly because there was so many people at one sitting so if the tables were numbered the waiters could take note of who had been sereved, again not the staff's fault Managment again. the staff we met worked very hard and definatley make the hotel

Room Tip: don't stay in room 317 or 312

Victorian seaside Hotel, which was expected. Our room was on the 3rd floor looking over towards the Orme. Clean, comfy Went on a very good Internet deal so thought would go with an open mind. An old fashioned hotel but ok. The shower was either hot or nothing. The bath was a high bath, nice if more able but maybe hard for someone to get into for a shower, that's if one can have a shower! The lift as others have said is small and fast, my other preferring to walk and I just used to go up and walk down. The staff all very friendly and helpful. Meals as expected standard of large hotels. Breakfast good and all meals served very very fast - one almost would like to see the kitchen scene! Good position on prom. Most other guests seemed to be on internet offer or coach trip deals. Llandudno is a nice town and though not normally my type of place had a nice break. Enjoyed the bygone Hotel, the town, the tour bus, the chair-lift up the Orme and the walking up there.
Go with an open mind and enjoy!

This was an organised trip by a company and after reading previous reviews my wife and I were slightly wary. But to no avail the room we were allocated was on the fourth floor facing the sea. The room was clean and so was the spa bathroom. The food was very good and the staff and service was excellent.

We had a 2 night stay with a KGB Deal £99.00. which included B&B and one 3 course dinner.
There was a good choice for both meals and the service was fast and the food was good and generous. the Room was also OK with a flat screen TV with freeview, the bathroom was small but clean and included a bath with shower. Unfortunately there was no internet in the room except for dial up, but WiFi was available around the reception area.
Llandudno is a nice town with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants, there is also a Wetherspoons less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, so good food and real ales at reasonable prices. We took a trip on the tram up the Great Orme, also a walk on the pier which was quite relaxing. In all I would recommend this Hotel for a short break.
