Hotel very well situated, The rooms were clean but very basic and dated, could do with a refurbishment to bring it up to standard. Couldn't complain about the food, good choice of menu and decent portions. Thought the entertainment was rather poor and the bingo was an extortionate price, but overall a pleasant stay.

Stayed here overnight. The building looks a bit distressed from outside do not be too put off by this. Undergoing an obvious paint job inside so should look ok when done. Room was clean and cosy and in line with other brittania hotels we have used plenty warm enough. Food was plentiful and pretty average but no complaints. Staff were superb and helpful. Ticked all the right boxes for.a cheap stay. Magnificent view of the bay. Advice to would be customers remember this is an old building past its best but certainly not without charm. Don't expect too much and you should be fine. Will have no problem staying here again.

I stayed here on a weekend trip, the entertainment was 1st class, on the three evenings of my stay. I paid extra for a "Premier" room, which was anything but. The TV was unserviceable, the drawer knob , which was packed with toilet roll in an attempt to stabilise it came out with the drawer. The Restaurant,....On Friday evening, I requested a bottle of wine at dinner, the waitress said she would tell the wine waiter, later returning to say , "the wine waiter is busy? you will have to get your own"? On Saturday afternoon I called at reception to complain and also to order a bottle of wine to be in place for dinner. The receptionist was apologetic and placed my order for the evening. Saturday evening, at the end of dinner, a waitress appeared with a bottle of wine, stating that it been placed on the wrong table, I stated the wine was intended to accompany the meal, and I refused it. She suggested I take it into the concert room, I repeated my refusal, and told her to take it back.

Rooms for clients travelling with National Holidays are rubbish. Shower was in a large room but was a tiny cubicle you couldn't turn around in.Furniture very outdated and shabby. However the room was clean as was bedlinen and towels. Towels changed everyday if needed. Food was fine. My advice is there are better hotel in Llandudno, even travelling with National Holidays. The driver even had to have his room changed. Don't even think for one minute you will be allowed in the dining room with the lovely sea view, its a no no.

Room Tip: You would have to examine each room in the hotel, then you might be lucky with a decent room.

We've just returned from a pleasant night away at the Grand hotel Llandudno. We had a family room for 3 which was a decent size with a balcony with a sea view. Although the rooms are a little dated the beds were comfy and clean. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. There are two bars , one with daily evening entertainment. Overall this hotel is very good value for money at a total cost of £55.00 including breakfast. A great base to explore Llandudno with its stunning scenery , lovely promenade and ample shops , bars and restaurants.

Sadly, this hotel is well past its sell-by date and needs a total overhaul; possibly the resort would be better served if the building was demolished and replaced since some safety issues (dangerous balconies and structural problems) are surely becoming too great to resolve.
Our room was very, very basic which would not have been an such a disappointment if it had been clean and welcoming. It was dirty, shabby and very uncomfortable; every floorboard creaked, as did the bed with the slightest movement. I was kept awake by the sound of our neighbour snoring all night; clearly some larger rooms have been divided in two with very thin partition walls which don't keep out any external noise.
We had a shower room but no bath. All the fittings were mouldy and outdated; the toilet had been squeezed into such a small space that the flush handle had been cut down and shortened to stop it jamming against the wall. There is no heated towel rail and our towels were not replaced so we used the same damp linen for the duration of our stay. On our final morning we had to leave early to catch a train and found that there was no hot water available despite running the taps and shower for ages.
The food wasn't dreadful but it was very basic home-style cooking - e.g: cottage pie - from a self-serve buffet. There was a limited choice of hot food, plus a cold salad selection.
I could go on and on about the failings of this hotel but there are plenty of other reviews providing adequate info to dissuade anyone from wasting money on a stay here. If you look at the traveler photographs, you'll see that the local scenery is stunning and the hotel is in a fantastic position but those are its only positives. What a shame; it must have been a lovely place to stay in its heyday. Plenty of other smart hotels, guest houses and B&Bs are available in Llandudno.
