“A GLIMPSE INTO A TIME WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET.”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

This is a place we thoroughly enjoyed visiting.
Take time to look at exhibits properly you don't want to miss anything, there is so many little things on display from every day life of ordinary people during the war as well as military kit and I think the saddest thing on display is the tyre from a downed Hurricane in which the pilot lost his life and was lost for years and when it was found (in the mid 80's if remember correctly) the pilot then had the full military funeral honours service he deserved (he deserved a long life in reality though).
Pay a visit if you like anything to do with World War II.
And for the older generation this museum will bring back the many memories of this time,as for the younger generation it would be nice to see for themselves the past and put things into perspective how easy it is today.
As you leave please buy something as this a private museum with no funding other than admission fees(£3.25 for adults, less for children and O.A.Ps.) and gift sales it would be a great loss to lose our history if this museum had to close due to lack of funds.

“Great value, interesting museum”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

This is actually a museum that has developed out of a personal collection - but don't be put off as it is far better curated than many leading museums.

There are a series of thoughtful and thought-provoking displays on the Home Front and the impact of the war. Each cameo/ diorama/ scene brings to life the challenges and difficulties. Very well done and well worth a couple of hours.
