myself and my two sons visited for lunch before an afternoon show for my youngest son to enjoy on his birthday, the service was slow the staff (waitress and the girl behind the counter) looked like they really hated being there, when we did get our lunch, there was no garnish or side salad as was advertised) i had too hurry them twice as we were going to miss the show if we werent served soon only 3 tables were full including ours so unsure why service was as slow as it was.. i havent been back since.. very disapointed indeed...

“Lovely venue !”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Went here for the first time recently for a pre-theatre lunch - although we had to book in advance certainly to get the table of choice by the window. Wasn't too sure what to expect given the mixed reviews on this website. Was drawn by the glass and elevated sea views that I had seen from the road/promenade. Thought it would be a really great dining experience and on the whole it was. It was a beautiful cold bright sunny day and we sat right at the front at the window and had panoramic views. It was a very pleasing dining experience and the food (lunch menu) was simple but good. The service was quick, pleasant and efficient. We weren't rushed and felt very relaxed and comfortable. Prices weren't overly expensive. We will most certainly go again.

“Lovely view, adequate food, poor service”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

We had a pre-theatre meal band had booked for 5.30. Despite there being a number of tables with a view free we were directed to a table which overlooked the washing area of the kitchen. I asked anther we our be moved and the waitress was very patronising said the table plan for the evening had been completed. Eventually we were moved to a table the other end of the restaurant, the waitress was not amused, funny Joe you can tell from someone's expression! There were two of us dining and we literally had a small slice of bread cut in half between us, curled at the edges. We asked for iced water, it came un-iced. We had a bottle of sauvignon blank which came in an ice bucket which was plonked in between us quite unceremoniously without a napkin. The food was ok, I had chickpea and red onion cakes, very dry and a little tasteless. The main course was pork belly, very tasty but various parts of the meal were at different temperatures. Coffee was awful, I expect it was instant, no fudge as was expressed on the polythene clad menu, when I questioned the waitress she said they had not done fudge or a long time because people didn't eat it but had not had time to take off the menu. She then added that we were lucky o have mint chocolates instead! For someone allergic to chocolate not so lucky! Give this a miss if you can there are plenty of better places in Llandudno, I guess with such a captive audience in the theatre ad a wonderful view it's a real shame it's not better. The attitude of the staff made the experience a bit less enjoyable. You get what you pay for!

“A good pre show meal”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

As a pre show meal we would rate overall as very good. With 100-150 diners all needing to be fed within an hour or so before curtain up at 7.15 pm, you must expect an amount of pre cooking involved. The Ocean Lounge on lower floor ( tables nicely set out for the occasion) offered the same meal as the Review on the first floor. In view of the early show start,we asked for ONE main dish and there were NO problems in paying for one dish at £12 rather than the menu price offering two courses at £16. Our salmon was well done and good proportion, vegetables variable. Service smooth quick pleasant and flexible. A neighbouring table were given the option of first course, then the pre show talk and then returning for the other meals before getting to show in good time. We got to the opera on 14th March in good time We will use restaurant again when visiting Venue Cymru.
