“A lovely stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely stay at St. George's last week. The hotel is ideally situated for walking along the front and only a short drive away from the heart of Snowdonia for people who enjoy a longer, more challenging walk as we do! The food was excellent ( especially breakfast) and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to returning very soon!

Well thank you for reviewing again and hope the stay brought memories back of your sister's wedding, and we do so appreciate your kind words.
Absolutely right to take advantage of our excellent breakfasts with such long walks, hope you work up enough energy for another visit soon.
All our best wishes

We generally enjoyed the Hotel and the whole experience, although we didn't sleep as well as we would have liked due to an uncomfortable bed and resorted to sleeping on the duvet. Service a bit slow and unorganised at breakfast although food good also limited number of parking spaces first come first served. We were lucky. Generally felt that the Hotel was not really quite up to four star and a bit expensive for what you got.

Well we are sorry you found the bed hard, that's a first in our reviews, please contact me directly to tell me which room and I will certainly investigate. However, am pleased that you have generally enjoyed your stay, do note the point, on breakfast service. But hope you will return to St George's and please contact me directly, so I may ensure a warm welcome and a comfortable nights stay.
Kind regards

Okay, not everyone would be bothered about getting a sea view but it was a family birthday and we wanted to celebrate. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but they give a mighty good view over the promenade, you can sit on the balcony and take the air, and the hotel is VERY handy for the shops in Mostyn Street, just around the corner.

Service is really excellent and the whole team did their best to make us welcome. As we pulled our car in the car park at the back of the hotel, the manager was just coming out and personally organised for our luggage to be carried in. A nice touch you don't often get.

The staff arranged our birthday meal in the terrace restaurant so we could all sit and see the sea (most restaurant tables in the window are for two). Food was excellent, and the breakfast the following morning was also pretty good. There are probably cheaper places you could stay in Llandudno, b ut we very much enjoyed this hotel.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a room on the front - and get a balcony if possible.

Stayed here in January 2009 in a superior double room for a friends wedding - wonderful room, comfortable bed, upgraded at no extra cost from a basic double to a superior which meant the inclusion of a suite was great!! With sea-views and views of the Great Orme. Would definitely stay here again!

visited this hotel recently to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary as we had stayed there on our wedding night. i booked a double room with a balcony only to find that we had no balcony.

This was obviously not a great start made a little worse as i could not park in the hotel car park and had to walk about half a mile to avoid having to pay street parking fees.

Got to our room only to find that not only did i have no balcony, there was urine in the wc and the sink and bath had not been cleaned. i complained about all of the above but was fobbed off with regard to the parking and the lack of a balcony. they did send someone up to clean the bathroom but, as i said, this was meant to be a nice surprise and romantic treat for my wife (far from romantic having urine in the toilet!!!).we were amazed to realise there was no fridge but you could hire one for £7 per day. what 4 star hotel does not have a fridge? this should be reduced to 3 star at most!

Room Tip: ask for sea view with balcony but dont bank on getting what you ask for when booking, i know i didnt

To respond to your points raised in the review.
I have sent you a copy of your reservation confirmation which does not include the booking of a balcony room as you can see it only indicates a Premier Sea view, if you were of this understanding then this is regrettable and I am sorry, but the booking has been quite clearly confirmed no balcony.
As local to the town and area I am somewhat at a loss for your exasperation at the parking difficulties, which are so well known locally, yet as mentioned with previous reviews we have a concierge and porterage who will always be available to assist with parking on request.
Fridges in rooms is not a 4 star requirement, though we have them in our suite rooms but the majority of 4 stars do not have them available. We do offer ice and complimentary waters, with a 24 hour room service.
As for a clean serviced room then of course, this is a basic principle and if we failed, then I do apologize, however our Housekeeping Standards are the highest scoring guest feedback we receive.
If you wish to contact me at any time I will gladly assist personally with any arrangements to show you St George's Stars are fixed and solid.
Yours sincerely

Lovely to read how much you enjoyed our new restaurant concept Senses.
We are so pleased how the first 'opening night' proved so successful. What is particularly encouraging is how much interest there is in the future dates.
So keep checking our website for further updates and hope we will be welcoming you back soon to Senses and St George's.
Kind regards
