Llandudno was our first "port of call" for our trip around Wales. We chose a Shearings 3 day package, after reviewing The County on Trip Advisor.
On arrival we found the staff on reception very friendly and efficient in checking us in. Clive on reception was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Each night I requested an ice bucket and two wine glasses (we bought our own wine to have in our room) and he didn't mind at all. Parking is usually okay along the front - however - I would get there before early evening.
Yes, the lift is very small, however, we are quite fit so we took the stairs to our room on the second floor (room 204). We treated ourselves and upgraded to a seaview room, which was fine and had obviously been recently refurbished. Very clean. Towels, tea and coffee facilities were topped up every day. Our only "whinge" was that there were no flannels. We had a lovely sea view and could see all along the Promenade. We even had a few resident seagulls that came to sit on our window sill for a visit, whilst we had our evening glass of wine. Must of been the crisps we fed them :)
The dining area was well laid out and we were seated near the window so we had a lovely sea and promenade view. We gathered if you had a Sea View room you would have a sea view in the dining room. Meals were fine, fairly good quality and service was good.
The walk along the Promenade (or beach) is lovely this time of year (April). Particularly after dinner for an evening stroll - it is a bit of a walk from the town - however - we enjoyed the exercise.
In summary, we enjoyed our three days at The County in Llandudo and it was a nice start to our touring around of Wales. Definitely good value for money with using Shearings Hotel deals.
