We recently stayed with here with another couple, on a short break to Llandudno, We tried for St George Hotel where we had previously stayed, but the hotel would not 'play ball' with what I thought were high room prices.
However i'm quite glad we settled for The Imperial, the room here was excellent, even a partial sea view (214 I think) and the deal included champagne and chocolates. The restaurant service was fantastic, food very nice. Breakfast food and service second to none.
I thought the reception desk was a little frosty on arrival but any further encounters seemed OK. There is a nice looking pool, but unfortunately we had no time to test it out.
Parking can be an issue, but in all fairness this is a Llandudno wide issue. There is a small car park at the rear and I did manage to find a space for our two day visit, however this would probably not be the case if you arrived evening onwards. Public spaces (lounges, etc) a little dowdy in places, but I appreciate old Victorian buildings take a lot of upkeep, but maybe due a lick of paint in places.
Afternoon tea, for me always a pleasant experience, but needs bigger variety of items.
Overall a great weekend and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

This undoubtedly is the finest hotel on the Promenade of Llandudno. It has a warm ambience and the service is first class throughout. The rooms are all very individual and even have sea facing balconies on a few. Fantastic visit and food was faultless!

Room Tip: During summer I would reccommend a sea facing room on top floor with a balcony.

This hotel is definitely one of the best we have ever stayed in. All areas are beautifully decorated, not just the public areas! Our room ( no. 418) was very spacious and had a big bathroom. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. On arrival we were offered a free upgrade to a superior room which was a lovely bonus. We chose the 'Champagne Break' which was well worth the extra money. When we got to our room there was chilled champagne and very tasty chocolates. The deal also included dinner in the restaurant on one of our evening's stay. All the food we ate at the hotel was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. There is limited car parking so I would advise you arrive as near to your booking in time as possible.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea are worth paying a little extra for as the view is beautiful.

I have seldom been to such a good hotel ; and indeed for the price , 4 course dinner and breakfast included.
Apparently for the purposes of this review, I have to add more characters.
Disregarding that, I recommednd this as a very good hotel.

Stayed at the imperial last night, lovely hotel. Huge bathroom and very clean furnishings. Bed very comfortable. Beautiful sea views and excellent staff in the breakfast room. Polite reception staff keen to help.
Ideally situated for conferences or concerts at Venue Cymru.
Would recommend for conference users or holiday breaks.
Lovely cooked breakfast and plenty of choice of continental style option.

We visited The Imperial for a pre-theatre meal on Saturday, 20th October. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by pleasant, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We asked that the size of the table be altered to seat five, from the original booking for four. This was done immediately. The choice on the menu suited everyone. Service was very efficient and the food was very good.

The staff were aware that we were going to the theatre and so served us promptly and yet we felt unhurried.

My cousin who joined us for the meal was staying in the hotel aand said that she was very comfortable and felt very safe and well cared for.

Bearing in mind that most hotels in this town have to work round the fact they are old Victorian buildings that have been altered over the years, The Imperial was very nice, clean, comfortable, friendly, and all the staff did what they could to make your stay enjoyable. Food was very good, as was it's position on the sea front .
Car parking can be an issue, due to point made above, but of course this is not the fault of the hotel. There were only 2 small capacity lifts, which could pose a problem for people with mobilty problems.
a good hotel overall, however, at times they appeared to struggle to maintain the good service, such as slow food and drink delivery, having to be reminded of orders, etc, and on the last day of our 4 day stay, breakfast was a complete and utter shambles.
Other than this "blip" and the occasional lapse of service, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a room at the side overlooking car park, but could hear a slight "humming" noise fr...

Thank you for your review, we are pleased you found the food and service overall good. We are one of the few large hotels in the resort to have a car park and while we appreciate it is small..
We hope to see you again soon.
