We have just spent a couple of days in Llandudno at the Empire . It was a combined business and pleasure trip - we visited friends and took my young daughter as it was the Easter holidays. The room and setting of the hotel was lovely. We had an enjoyable evening meal in Watkins restaurant with our friends and the service was very good. The following day we were able to keep our room later, as my daughter had been poorly in the night, and we couldn't go out to enjoy the resort as planned. This then enabled my husband to attend his meeting . The staff at the Empire couldn't do enough to help us with our situation. It was a pity we were unable to use the pool - but we will return as this hotel as it suited all our needs and is very good value for the price we paid.

My partner and I went here for his birthday. He has very fond memories of being taken by his parents a few times when he was young so we decided to go back. As soon as you walk in you feel like you've gone back to the 1920s and then we were wowed by the room. The bed looked so grand and plush and we had a litle decanter of sherry on the house! I tend to judge somwhere by it's public WC facilities and I had never seen anything like the one here! Ridiculously grand! The pool and gym facilities were really nice. The only thing we thought let it down slightly was the food - we are actuall trying to remember what we had which says it all really. The breakfast portions were a bit poxy aswell and we're definitely not the greedy types! Saying that we had a scone there one afternoon which might possibly be the nicest one I've ever had! Really scrummy.

I doubt we would ever go back to Llandudno (not because we didnt like it but there's a lot more places to see) but of we ever did we wouldnt stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: We had a room at the front on the 3rd floor looking straight down the hill it was lovely.

We had the pleasure of staying at this super hotel over the Easter Holidays. Our room, a standard one, was good sizes, well appointed and spotless, It was on the side of the hotel and we had a view towards the bay.. The staff were friendly and professional. The food in both the Poolside and Watkins restaurant was excellent and good value for the money. The Empire is decorated to ahigh standard and the swimming pool and fitness room, although small was fine,.Superb location only 2 mins walk to TramStation to visit top of Great Orme (well worth a visit) 2 mins to sea front , We went to the theatre, which is good (the pre show meal was again excellent) It was our first time to Llandudno, which is a smashing seaside town, clean. pretty good location to explore area. All in all hotel and resort excellent...

We stayed at the Empire over the Easter period. This is a charming hotel with the decor based on the 1930's. We stayed in room 28, it was a little smaller than what I expected (sometimes it was difficult for two people to move at once), but was decorated to a very high standard and although a cold weekend the room was always warm and cosy - in fact the whole of the hotel was warm and friendly. It was the type of hotel if one person was awake everyone was awake, the person above us woke very, very early every morning and seemed to walk several miles within the confines of her/his room - we heard every footstep as it vibrated through the ceiling.

We enjoyed the ambience of the cosy lounge area and all the staff were very friendly throughout (without exception), we particularly enjoyed the extensive talents of the piano player - who just played non-stop for a couple of hours each evening. The hotel was populated by "nice" guests - well behaved and respectful families and maturish couples. We met people who had been to the hotel several times and that alone speaks volumes.

Drinks and food were reasonably priced, the restaurant offers a menu with a fairly decent choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant was busy during the evening but this gave it a nice atmosphere and the hotel employed enough staff to make sure everyone was looked after. Non-residents also came from outside the hotel for dinner, this was a popular choice for diners. The service in the restaurant was first class but here come my complaints - during our one dinner, we had to send some potatoes back because they were virtually cold. All three cooked breakfasts (thats each morning for three days !) were luke warm, and although brought to your table I guess much was either pre-prepared or left standing before being served. The Easter period was busy, the hotel was full and although many boxes were ticked I do feel that the owners need to look at the breakfast arrangements and get the food to the table hot. I would have given 5 excellent rating if it wasn't for the breakfast.

We also visited the Osborne House, owned by the same owners, and this too was decorated to a high standard and very cosy for a warm fire and a bottle of wine !

The Leisure facilities were nice to unwind in and although a little dull in the gym area everything was very clean and tidy throughout.

All in all a very pleasant weekend in very nice surroundings and we probably would stop here again.

Stayed here as recommended by family members who had been previously.

Brought my 6 month old daughter with me. The cot provided was good quality with clean linen. Large room enabled us to allow my daughter the space she needed to play.

The restaurant food was fantastic and at a really good price. The waiters were polite and attentive. Although there were a large group of men also staying and celebrating, the hotel staff ensured we were happy and seated us in a quieter area of the restaurant.

Would definitely stay here again.

we have just returned from another 50th birthday celebration weekend, this time we stayed in the main hotel room 34, the room has been modernised to the highest standard. we were a large group of adults and children and we were treated like returning family by the owner and her staff. the food was wonderful and the waiting on staff were all excellent. my husband and i are both fussy vegiterians and before each meal we were asked if we would like anything other than the menu options. wonderful service. we cant wait for the next reason to return.

Room Tip: room 34 was excelllent but all rooms fab.

Stayed here for a couple of nights earlier on this month. As others have stated we had Dinner B&B, not something we normally do, but at the Empire they get the sense of 'occasion' just right. The breakfast was spot on, also noticed how well they cater for specific diets, such as gluten free etc, We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel that overlooked the Great Orme, that was very pleasant. Feel sure we will stay here again and would like to try No 72 as it has also had good reviews. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and parking is easy which is another bonus.

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra for a bigger room
