I don't know about you but if I see a pier I have to walk to the end and back. It was a blustery evening in May when I took a stroll up Llandudno Pier. There were a few other people out and about but I was surprised how few were on the pier - until I realised that the kiosks, cafe, amusements - even the public loos - were closed. It looked tired and unloved. It's a shame as I remember it 50 years ago when it was vibrant. I am told they are bringing back the trips from the end of the pier which should help. They should spend some money on paint and renovating the facilities. Encourage the traders to smarten up their premises. Give people a reason to visit. I enjoyed the walk but found the environment dreary and a bit depressing. Hard to fault the views though so my advice would be to visit the pier with fairly modest expectations and take a camera to capture the views.
