I don't know about you but if I see a pier I have to walk to the end and back. It was a blustery evening in May when I took a stroll up Llandudno Pier. There were a few other people out and about but I was surprised how few were on the pier - until I realised that the kiosks, cafe, amusements - even the public loos - were closed. It looked tired and unloved. It's a shame as I remember it 50 years ago when it was vibrant. I am told they are bringing back the trips from the end of the pier which should help. They should spend some money on paint and renovating the facilities. Encourage the traders to smarten up their premises. Give people a reason to visit. I enjoyed the walk but found the environment dreary and a bit depressing. Hard to fault the views though so my advice would be to visit the pier with fairly modest expectations and take a camera to capture the views.

the pier is about 1/2 a mile out at nice and is a nice walk, the pier has some shops with the normal sea side tat to buy,
At the bottom of the pier is an amusement centre, café and a point at the bottom for fishing.

theres nice views at bottom of the pier out at side and landscape of edge of Llandudno, and nice view of the beach front

Llandudno offers the last resort to those who want to avoid the 'chips' and 'kiss me quick' brigade that the rest of the North Wales coast offers.
Call me a snob, but being sworn at, tiptoeing through vomit and eating awful food is not my idea of a day out.
Llandudno has none of this, its great! Lots to do, lots to see and a lack of idiots"

The beautiful pier...held together in some areas with black masking tape...(on the right hand side going out past one of the shops!)

It's a wonderful thing to have although it looks a bit tired and jaded in areas. While we could clearly see that boards were being relaid to keep the flooring safe and that there was ample seating and lots of people on there, it did feel like there was something lacking.

It would be wonderful to find a pier-end restaurant selling good wholesome food, where you could eat well and take in the wonderful view rather than the ubiquitous pub and amusement arcade.

That said, it wouldn't be the seaside without at least one amusement arcade...loose change anyone?!??

I love Llandudno. And I have a real affection for its attractions, the pier included. It would be nice to see some history boards displayed so people can read about the history of the pier in all it's original glory - come on Six Piers Ltd., revamp this beautiful pier (oh and stop using masking tape to hold fast the balustrades)!!
