“Excellent Christmas Break”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

My wife and I have just enjoyed a 5 day Christmas Break at the Queens. This was our first visit to this Hotel but it will not be the last.
First the rooms, ours was basic with a very small shower room but adequate. There was a slight problem with noise from the room above us but this is to be expected with an Hotel of this age and once the occupants settled we were able to get a good nights sleep.
The food at this Hotel was plentiful and of a very good standard and the staff were all excellent, nothing seemed to be trouble for them and they went out of their way to ensure you had a good Hoilday. I have never been to any Hotel were the Customer care was better and I thank the management and staff for an excellent Christmas Break

The staff were very helpful amd efficient considering the hotel was busy due to the Christmas parties. Food, service excellent and the room was better than St Georges!!!!!!!!!!! My friend and I had a fabulous time at the Queen's Hotel! Our room was clean and very comfortable and the staff extremely helpful and friendly.
The food was fantastic with plenty of choice and very well cooked and presented.
The evening entertainment was great and really helped to make our stay great fun!
I would highly recommend the Queen's Hotel. A big thank you to you and your staff! Happy Christmas!

Our group was there for a Turkey & Tinsel break.
Right from when we arrived the group was greeted and quickly settled into rooms.
Our room was clean and cosy, basic but more than adequate. They had excellent heating, the beds were very comfortable & the shower was powerful. The basin taps needed attention as they were stiff, but that was our only complaint.
The meals were varied, good portions, well cooked and the service was fast & friendly.
The entertainment was very good with the right balance of singing, dancing and comedy. Each performer was on for a couple of hours non-stop.
We had all the expected trimmings of Christmas such as Father Xmas, a present, drink on 'New Year's Eve', and more, like afternoon tea & cake.
Little touches from the hotel like a small gift each day & a tin of chocs. to share on the home journey, really made us welcome.
The week passed too quickly and we came away carrying a few extra pounds!
Llandudno is a lovely town with a variety of shops and the sea front is pleasant even in poor weather. The Queens Hotel takes this view in from the front windows as it is situated right opposite the beach.

This was our third stay at the Queens. On the other two occasions we have been happy with our room but not this time. We were in room 35 on the first floor. In my opinon this should be offered as a budget room. It is L-shaped and poky. The bathroom door is so close to one of the single beds there is only just enough room to get through. The room and bathroom were clean enough but the room suffers from extremely poor natural light and the dark carpet and bed covers don't help. The floor slopes very badly by the bathroom and my bed was on a slope! One of the windows overlooks the roof of the kitchen area and all its extractors. Which are extremely noisy. When we used the shower both in the evening and morning the water was lukewarm. The shower cublcle is also so small that it is hard to close the folding door once in. Thankfully we only had to suffer one night there. Any longer and we would have asked for another room. The food is fine although on previous visits we haven't been asked to order our breakfast at dinner on the previous evening. I didn't know what I wanted after having just eaten a 3 course dinner. We will come back but will make sure we ask for a room on a higher floor either on the side or at the front.

Thank you for taking the trouble to leave your review. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your bedroom, your feedback has been noted, although it would be fair to say that we have not had any complaints about that particular room in the past. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We booked online for this place. The details of our booking stated that it was on the third floor with a view of the sea. We got there and they said people who booked online didn't get what they booked. We got a ground floor room at the back of the building with a view of a roof. Worst of all, it wasn't in the same building! ! We were taken across the road to an annex.
It was my first trip to Llandudno and a special occasion. The room was decidedly average and the decor was dated. There was no wifi ad promised online.
The main hotel (where we had actually booked to stay) had a nice lounge.

A disappointing review, 6 months after they stayed (!) - so hard to understand the problem. It would seem that the booking was made via LateRooms, and the rooms we advertise on LateRooms are clearly stated to the Queens Lodge , across the road. There is no sea-view from the lodge. I find it hard to imagine that any of our experienced, fully trained staff would say that "people who booked online don't get what they booked" and as for wifi, this is available in the Hotel reception area, as advertised.
All in all, a very puzzling review.

I took a party of 41 pensioners to this hotel and cannot understand some of the comments that I have seen on these reviews, yes some of the rooms may have been on the small size but all were clean warm and comfortable, the entertainment was first class, with none of the entertainers going missing for half an hour or so like some hotels half way through there spot, as for the food quantity and quality excellent, any request for more or a different item was no problem at all, the restaurant staff very efficient and good humoured, I will be booking to go back again next year as I have been requested to do so by my pensioners. Well done The Queens Hotel

Room Tip: If you like to have a rest in the afternoon ask for a room that is not over the concert room as ther...
