The Cottage Loaf has been decorated in a "traditional" style- with the usual odd shelf of books etc, but presents a welcoming feel. Food is a major feature here and so often in pubs where this is the case it takes over, making the customer just wanting a beer or other drink feel a little out of place. Not so here. There is a great selection of cask ales, mostly from local microbreweries, and these are all in good condition, making the pub's regular appearance in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide well deserved. For those who do want to eat, there is an excellent choice and quality is high. There are some outdoor seats at the front (popular in summer) and a beer garden to the rear that is a bit quieter. Agree with other reviewers who mention that wi-fi would be useful as the immediate area has poor mobile reception, but you can with luck connect to The Cloud from Wetherspoons next door if in the back outside area!
