The hotel was reasonably good. We were shown to a room that hadn't been made up and were not told when it had been made up.The evening meal was not so good. The chips had been prepared a lot earlier and looked and tasted sad. The front of the hotel had seating and tables that were covered with bird.droppings and a broken birds egg that was starting to smell because of the intense heat.. The tables were impossible to sit at because they hadn't been cleaned for a long while. Will not be returning to the Winchmore Hotel. There was a thin curtain in the room and so it became light at 4am and woke us up.

Room Tip: Don't have the room with the step immediately outside the door because you will fall down it.

Wow are you sure it is the same Hotel that all the other people on Tripadvisor and Booking.com stayed in? We never allow people in rooms that are not prepared. Check in is 2.00pm and as 55% of our guests can vouch for we do try and get them ready earlier to allow early check in. In addition our rule of thumb is on a changeover the room must appear to the incoming guest as if they are the first to have stayed in it. We of course like all Hotels have the odd error but never intentional! The seating at the front and the rear are cleaned first thing every morning but unfortunately the seagulls do not respect that! The chips, we do not pre cook anything it is all cooked to order. If you had notified the waitress on the evening they would have been changed and the chef would have been out to apologise personally, that is our rule. With regard to the thin curtain-again not mentioned to reception, we would have considered this a useful comment. You clearly stayed some weeks ago, as now it is dark at 4.00 am, so unfortunately we do not know what room you stayed in? However we will wait for the next guest to report the light through the window and we will action a change. Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review.

Thank you for your review. We are obviously pleased you enjoyed your stay enough to consider returning soon. Not sure which room you were in, a little small? We have standard sized rooms, large rooms and premier very large rooms. However the standard rooms are, in comparison, larger than your average seaside hotel room. We would love the opportunity to spoil you, so next time when you book tell us which room you have stayed in, so we can advise on an upgrade.

My husband and I spent one night in the Winchmore Hotel due to the fact we could not get booked in the Premier Inn. How glad we were as we had a very pleasant stay here the room was very clean and fresh with such a comfy bed. We required an early breakfast and this was no bother to them at all. So a big thank you to the lovely lady in reception who organised all this for us including an ideal Chinese Restaurant for our meal which was superb. We were the people that bought the car from Mochdre and its a sheer delight too... Thank you

Room Tip: Room 12 was ideal with a perfect view

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and even more delighted that the restaurant recommended was good! Your early breakfast was no problem, at least you were able to collect the car in good time, another one for the collection? Whilst it is doubtful that you will return to this area (unless there is another car) we do hope if you do you will stay with us again. It was a real pleasure to meet you both, guests like yourselves make the job an absolute joy!

Hi Claire. Thank you for your amazing review it gives the team a real boost. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, but when you booked the room it was the last one available and one of only 6 in the building which has a bath! You did not mention when you booked you wanted a shower, so please remember to tell us next time so we can try and offer perfection!! Looking forward to seeing you again.

This was my third or fourth trip to the Winchmore, and it just keeps getting better. Me, my sister and niece choose this hotel because of the warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff cannot do enough for their guests. The initial welcome is warm and friendly, and this continues throughout your stay. Rooms are clean and well presented. If there is a problem (a rare occurrence), it is sorted out quickly and professionally. It is excellent value for money when you consider that you simply come out of the front door and onto the sea front. The hotel gets better with every visit, and it is improving all the time. I will be visiting again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for value for money.

We stayed for a two night midweek break, the hotel is well situated on the sea front and close to the shops and all attractions, the hotel itself is typical for the location, staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast a bit on the small size but well cooked, rooms well presented and clean, I can only see this hotel improving with time, well worth the money, and I would defiantly go there again.

Room Tip: Best rooms are with sea views
