Ocklynge Manor Bed & Breakfast

I stayed with my father in law for a night in the twin room. The moment we entered the gate it was very welcoming and the host Wendy – served us the home made cake and tea. It was like a home away from home. The twin room we stayed were nice warm and cosy. And good view of well maintained garden.
Each everything was pristine clean and tidy. There was attention to details. Wendy and David a very nice and helpful couple they recommended us to Italian restaurant in the town which offer a discount if you mention you are guest from Ocklynge manor. After a goodnight sleep next day break fast was a quality serving with fresh fruit salad. Home made bread and toast served with full English breakfast . Wendy was so kind enough. she accommodated my father-in-law york free omelet. I would definitely stay again and strongly recommend to friend and family. Do have a stay you will not be disappointed.

I stayed two nights at Ocklynge Manor with two friends. Wendy gave us a lift to a local pub on our arrival. On the Saturday, the weather was poor and Wendy gave us several wet weather options in the locality. Tea and cake awaited us on our return. My room was comfortable and spacious. A good breakfast was on offer, including home baked bread and marmalade.

We stayed four nights at the Ocklynge Manor.
We loved every minute of it.
Coming back at the end of the day was just like coming home.
Wendy and David are the perfect hosts, friendly and informative. They recommended and sent us to beautiful places in the area, and to good restaurants.
The welcome tea with home made cake were delicious.
Breakfasts were excellent, fresh, plentiful and made to order.
The room (Last but not least....) was fantastic. Large, beautifully furnished and appointed, spotlessly clean and with a beautiful view to the magnificent garden.
Excellent base for touring East (And West...) Sussex.
Thanks Wendy and David!! Great place!! Great hosts!! Wonderful experience!! We'll be back!!

Room Tip: Room number 2 is the largest. It is like an apartment to its own, with lots of space to spread out y...

We have been here before and am glad it was as perfect as before. Great welcome back. So nice to have the same lovely rooms and a peaceful break from busy hotels. Loved the tea and home made cake. If you are thinking about stopping here after a long journey or just before going home, make sure you book in time.

Room Tip: They all have a garden view.

From the warm welcome, and the trayed tea plus home made cake our stay was all we wanted, my wife commented It's the cleanest B and B we have stayed in, Wendy is justifiably proud of the accomodation and put us at ease. Would have liked to have stayed longer and will return again.

Room Tip: We had room 2 with views over garden and plenty of space

The house is beautiful and the hosts, Wendy and David, are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Wendy was also very helpful in suggesting a restaurant for dinner in Eastbourne, though we should have taken her advice about going to Brighton on the train rather than using the (very slow) park and ride there, as we did to our cost. An added bonus is the lovely garden which guests can walk around as well as admire from the bedroom windows. We appreciated the afternoon tea on arrival and the particularly good breakfast (including smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for those who don't fancy the more traditional offering) and you meet some interesting people. This is our second visit and we'll definitely be returning next year (we're opera lovers and it's handy for Glyndbourne).

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely but the largest bedroom, which has a smaller additional area with a single bed...

From the very warm welcome to the fond farewell, and ever thing in between your stay at Ocklynge Manor will be first class.
The first thing you find at Ocklynge Manor is the easy of parking they have a gated courtyard – excellent if you don’t like to leave your car on the road or hate having to find a parking space every time you return to your B&B.
Once we had parked Wendy came to the car and help us unload the luggage, we had several pieces of clothing on hangers as we were in Eastbourne for a wedding, Wendy didn’t just take the items up to our room she hung the dress & suite bags in the wardrobe.
On our way to the room Wendy showed us the beautiful garden (not to be missed, do take time to have a walk around) Once we had unpacked Wendy returned to the room with a delightful set tea tray, laden with delicious home make cake, pretty china and a lovely pot of tea, this was very welcoming after our long journey.
Sitting with our tea and cake give us time to unwind and take a look at our surroundings the room with all it’s lovely touches that make your stay so special, the house is so beautifully decorated but not at all fussy making it very homely and extremely comfortable.
Wendy and David will make your stay so special, at hand when you need them but invisible when you don’t, this I gather comes with years of experience on how to run the perfect B&B.
Regarding the Bed and the Breakfast, the room overlooks the garden and therefore very quiet and the bed was beautifully made up with Egyptian cotton sheets so silky smooth and comfortable you are guaranteed a good night’s sleep. When you wake you have the pleasure of enjoying Wendy’s cooked breakfast in her delightful dining room overlooking the garden, Wendy prepares and serves breakfast with such ease its hard to believe she is cooking for six visitors all with different tastes, you would believe she had know you all forever and cooked for you every day.
If you have the opportunity to stay in Eastbourne make sure you stay at Ocklynge Manor you will not be disappointed, and we might even see you at the breakfast table, this was our first visit but not our last.
Thank you, Wendy and David for a delightful and relaxing stay.

Room Tip: We had room 2, this has 2 bedrooms the first and largest with a double bed and a smaller room with a...
