In Eastbourne on business. Called into this place for a bite to eat and was really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Service was good and the choice of menu was really good too. Not too expensive and enjoyed a good meal.

An insult to Belgium. Ordered seafood tagliatelle, got spaghetti smothered in a reheated sauce. They offered me a coffee to make up for it!! £35 for two for lunch, never again.

I just had a Sunday lunch at the Belgian Café with friends and it was excellent. I had roast duck and a beer for about £20. The food was well cooked, good quality and very tasty. Service was also excellent. There was a band playing during Sunday lunch which definitely created a lovely atmosphere in the café. I would recommend trying if your in the area.

Went for a birthday meal with my husband (whose birthday it was) and three friends, we had pre-booked a table for Saturday evening 12th Oct, it was fairly busy, we ordered our drinks~red wine and beer for the boys~these took a while to arrive, the wine was not good which meant that we didn't drink very much of it (possibly a good thing), starters took far too long to arrive~over an hour, olives were given with drinks but we were very hungry, no apology from the waiter for the wait, my friend decided to change her order for her main as it was getting later and she didn't want to eat her original choice at that time in the evening, starters were fine when they finally arrived, my friend's 2nd choice of main was not good at all and she barely ate any of it, the waiter whilst clearing our plates asked if everything was ok-we said that her meal wasn't very good and he said nothing and just carried on clearing the table? I wondered why he had asked then did nothing to make amends or at least apologise, I understand when a restaurant is busy service isn't always that quick but it really wasn't worth waiting that long for and very disappointing as we'd heard good things about The Belgiun Cafe~Would not return or recommend to anyway based on our experience on Saturday.

Visited here for lunch on the 5th October, and although busy enough, there was plenty of seating available.

The drinks menu is filled with all manner of strange brews from Europe but very litttle was offered for the more staid drinker in our party.

Mistakes too can be costly with 250ml sometimes haigher than £4.00 worth bearing in mind if like us you had a "fosters" man with you.

The staff are excellent and efficient in the manner they take your orders, the management (well the large male manager) seem rather aloof and uncaring towards clients in any way prefering to saunter around like the leader of all the purvey.

The food was tasty (lobster bisque aside) which was insipid and tasteless. With good sized portions and much to choose from.

We would return but not with a less adventurous drinker with us.
