I ate with colleagues at Fayre and Square - we were rather nervous about it because of the reviews here. Menu was staple pub food - we chose fish and chips, steak salad and chicken salad - we all found our meals delicious and we couldn't fault the food. Good wine also. Our waitress was wonderful - she had a injured arm in a sling so could only manage one plate at a time and she had to walk twice as far as a result - but we were impressed by her willingness to work (no malingering here!) - she was friendly, courteous and smiling which was lovely.

I didn't stay in the hotel but my colleagues did and said they slept well, it was comfortable and clean.

Have stayed at this Premier Inn on several occasions. Rooms and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms have bath with power shower over. On most recent stay I had a good nights sleep despite being close to the stairs - appreciate their 'keep quiet' notices. Free wi-fi now available for 30mins and extra at a reasonable rate if you have work to do. Staff friendly. Food at Fayre and Square is reasonably priced and of a good standard. Service can be a bit on the slow side if they are busy.

Hotel fine - pleasant clean & quiet . Staff were helpful & friendly. Beds are very comfortable. Fayre & Square restaurant food awful. Four of us had 4 different meals and all were horrible! Service extremely slow & food was cold.

First time I have stayed in a Premier Inn hotel. My son had stayed in one and was very impressed with the comfort of their beds and breakfast provision. I indeed had a comfortable night's sleep; the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area; also good breakfast provision.

Would consider staying again.

Stayed at Premier Inn on saturday night - Checkin was fast - exceptional service & welcome by Heather in Reception. Polite & friendly. Room nice & clean & fresh, spacious, power shower was the best I had ever used in a premier inn. Nice & Compact close to car park & restaurant. Very peaceful location. Would recommend.

Very busy weekend and had to order breakfast - but worth the wait. Staff apologising all the time as they were extremely busy. Overall good service.

Room Tip: Nice location not far from Eastbourne/Hastings - very friendly & helpful staff,

I've stayed in various Premier Inns, and this one fits the mould perfectly. You get exactly what you'd expect: a good quality bed, a nice but basic en suite, and quiet environment and a good night's sleep (even though i find Lenny Henry intensely irritating in the commercials, I have to admit that he's right!)

I'd like to make a particular mention though about Heather, the lady on reception when we arrived. PI's all have friendly attentive and helpful staff, but she was exceptional! There was a major event happening in the town that weekend that had been cancelled and she was going to great lengths to help guests find alternative things to do, she bid us good night as we returned from dinner and remembered our reason for visiting, and was so smily and friendly that even the sad people who'd had their weekends spoiled were cheered.

Echoing other reviews, the 'restaurant' attached to the hotel is shockingly bad. "The Mill" is all that is horrible about eating experiences, with the exception of the few staff that were in attendance who were charming and friendly, though clearly overworked and unable to cope with the demand.

Rewinding to the evening before, when looking for a place for dinner that night we checked the reviews on here, knowing that we had no choice but to use the facility for breakfast the next day (we ended up at 'The Farm', just down the road, and had an excellent dinner - more in another review). They were right. It's dank, tatty and run down. The food is plentiful, but if you ask for a cooked breakfast expect to wait at least 40 minutes for it to appear. When it did arrive, it was fine, but nothing outstanding.

To sum up, by all means stay here for a good comfortable night's sleep, but try and avoid eating at The Mill at all costs!
