We had a 2 night stay for 2 breakfast and dinner. We could not fault the food which was hot, tasty and well served. All of the staff were very friendly and the rooms and public areas were spotless. The hotel is located very near to the beach and the local amenities. Lunch and afternoon tea is available in the lounge area at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed our time there and will be back.

Room Tip: We were overlooking the front of the hotel on the top floor, therefore very little noise.

The Imperial Hotel was really nice. The food was good, nicely presented, and the waiting staff were attentive. The bedroom was a twin, beds very comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets in wardrobe if required. The bathroom was small, but had a hand basin, (minature, corner basin), shower and toilet, with shelf and mirror. Plenty of tea/coffee making equipment, and a television. There was entertainment in the ballroom, (basement), every night. There was a male singer on our 1st night. He did the Bingo and Hotel daily raffle first, then sang lots of different songs, and did requests. Very good! People got up dancing too.Next night was a female entertainer, she did the Bingo and raffle before her act. She was a Caberet Vocalist. Personally, I thought the man, Billy, was the best of the two. Eastbourne was interesting, and the weather stayed good for the whole time. Enjoyed our walks along the promanade, brought back memories. All in all, a very good 2 days, would do it again!

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room, on Devenshire Place, but wasn't noisy.

The location is excellent being virtually on the promenade and within easy reach of most things

The rooms have the washbasin in the bedroom just like a B&B the toilet and bath(only) is in the "bathroom" which can be used if the proverbial cat didn't get their first. Very very few rooms have a shower although it escapes my reason as to why a shower unit is not fitted over the bath. I fear it is cost as the constant theme in the hotel is simply "we don't provide that" For instance there are no toiletries provided at all but no one tells you that when you book. There are 2 shower rooms on each floor and you can ask to borrow a bath robe and queue up in the corridor for your turn.
Be careful regarding the restaurant as they operate 2 shifts for meals within half an hour of each other so don't plan on enjoying a meal. Talk about HS2 for high speed. The food is not very good with the choice limited.

One good thing is that parking is only charges at £1 per day and should you be lucky enough to find a space to park close to the hotel be careful if you move away from it as you are likely to have a long walk from where you find another.

The hotel remains in the era of Grandma , the knotted handkerchief and the camiknickers.
But then you only get what you pay for!!!!!

Room Tip: make sure you get a shower room if you need one

My friend and I stayed here last September liked Eastbourne so much returned again this June with Robinsons. Hotel very good, bedrooms a little dated but spotlessly clean couldn't fault the food and the staff were friendly and nothing too much trouble for them. We will certainly stay there again .

Room Tip: If booking a single room, pay a supplement for a double as the single rooms are very small.

Booked a two night stay with travel vouchers last week. First impression of the hotel was well maintained and clean. Had a room (402) on the top floor which was basic but very clean, with tea and coffee, hairdryer etc. Meals were very slick, some others have called it regimented but at the end of the day it is set up to process coach tours. The staff were brilliant the only two issues we had was no wi-fi and having to pay for the wine at the table instead of it being put on your bill.

Just back after a week with Robinsons. Had a premier room on 3rd floor. Roomy, bright and cleaned every day. Plenty of tea, coffee, hot choc, biscuits, water and fruit. No noise heard and we were opposite the lifts and facing the front! Gordon our driver was a hive of info on each trip we went on. He helped to make our holiday relaxed and happy. One big let-down however was the food. Verybland, and had to search for the meat and chicken on one's plate. Presentation very bad and on the whole very disappointing....We were on the 1st sitting which wasrushed. Orders for evening meal had to be given at breakfast time. Who knows what they would like at 8.15.am. I wonder. The serving staff were all so efficient and couldn't do enough for us. Pity about the food though as that is the only reason we wouldn't return to the Imperial.

Arrived Friday lunch time with the sun shining on a lovely day. We were booked on by a very efficient and polite receptionist from Riga. The room 209 was spacious and clean only downside the shower was good if you were 5ft 5. Amazing view of the sea from our room at no extra charge. The dining room was spacious and very busy for breakfast. Cooked breakfast was ok bacon was excellent so were the fried eggs & beans. Sausages were run of the mill nothing to get excited about at all. The seating area round reception is spacious and very comfortable.
