Spent a lovely winter weekend with my significant other during a rather chilly early February weekend. Our room, a sea view, was excellent value and was spotlessly clean and spacious with a huge bed with crisp bed linen. We both slept well and then enjoyed an excellent buffet breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Plenty of choice of cooked items (in particular excellent sausages and bacon), cooked meats, various fruits and pastries and toast. All the staff we met were very friendly and professional and seemed to enjoy their jobs and the teams in which they worked. The hotel although not luxurious is very comfortable and was a bargin (£81.50 per night on Booking.com) and we were more than happy with our short stay. We had dinner in the resturant on Saturday night as we didn't want to venture out in the snow, and found the food to be of a good standard. If I had to find a negative, I would say that the temperature in some of the public areas was a little cool, but this is due to the high ceilings and large windows which of course in more clement weather would be entirely different. The building was charming with echos of a bygone era, the stained glass windows, the wide sweeping staircase and the high ceilings with ornate plasterwork were lovely features. My husband had a massage during our stay and he throughly enjoyed the 90 minute pampering. The hotel is well placed near the pier, shopping centre and other resturants, and of course some lovely walks are close by. We hope to be able to visit again in the warmer weather.

Room Tip: Sea view room worth paying for.

Room way to hot, even though we turned everything off and opened window and it was January!
Staff pleasant except the checking out receptionist who was more concerned about her printer not working.
Woken at 2 am by females running up and down the corridors screaming and laughing. No staff intervention, it took a resident who had a go at them to calm things down.
No opportunity is given to residents to give feedback to the hotel

Room Tip: Avoid room 116 as it a hot house!

Book an even numbered room and you won't be disappointed. Full sea vistas await if you do. Right on the prom so nothing to block the sea view.

Parking is tight. Not many spaces so you could end up on the strett and feeding a meter.

Decor is modern and its a a nice calm place to spend a few hours. Breakfast is a buffet with the usual fare. Service is very good attentive but not in your face annoying.

Rooms are of a decent standard but TV is poor and old which is odd considering the modern decor. Bathrooms are clean and packed with toiletries.

Would re visit for sure.

We arrive on Sunday 29th Jan after a full day travel from N. Ireland the warm ambience of the hotel enfolded us as we entered the lovely foyer the friendly helpful staff could not have been nicer during our stay. When we entered our lovely spacious room with huge bed we felt very much at home. After a good nights sleep we pulled back the curtains to the magnicifent sea view and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the spacious dining room. We had two evening meals in the hotel which were excellent. The location was superb for theatres, shopping walking etc. We also availed of the gym and santuary with their helpful staff. It was such a lovely hotel for a relaxing break which we combined with celebrating my dear aunt's 100th birthday in the picturesque town of Eastbourne. We can't wait to spend more time in the lovely Cavendish Hotel thank you !!!

We arrived after a long day travelling, too tired to question the diminutive dimensions of our 'executive' room; but the heating didn't work, and we were given the room we should have had first - warm, spacious, with a bed as big as the first room!
Apart from that hiccup, everything was fine - good location, friendly & efficient staff, good food - although some bad-tempered queuing for breakfast one morning!

This is a good hotel. Very grand building and in a fantastic situation. Right opposite the band stand and beach yet only a short walk into town. Plenty buses too. Large lounge and dinning room. Comfy library for after dinner coffee or drink.
We arrived on Sat 28th. We were later than planned so in a rush to meet relatives. We were given room104. An executive room as requested. It was very small which was a disappointment. In the morning we pulled the curtains to a view of windows, walls and flat roof! The room was dark but we weren't going to be in it much. However the bathroom was freezing. Towel rail not working. Called reception and porter came up and eventually found a switch in a high cupboard!. But still no heat so when we went for breakfast we told reception again. Breakfast was good. Hot and cold buffet. We had to wait about 10 mins as the hotel was full and not enough seating in the huge dinning room.
We were out for the day and returned to shower and change before going out again. Still bathroom heater cold. Asked reception and it was supposedly fixed. Eventually we were told that it was broken. We were then offered a bottle of wine or change rooms. We changed to a room across the corridor. What a difference. Large room (its bed would have filled our original room!) Bright, and could see the sea. Room 108. I wish we had been allocated this to start. I have to say that the staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel clean and warm. Week day breakfast is cold buffet but you can order cooked.
We will return but make sure we have a large room with a view!

A luxurious hotel providing everything you need for a stay in Eastbourne.

The fantastic reception sets the tone for the hotel and the bedroom, bar and restaurant all match up to this standard. Food in the restaurant is of high quality and staff are very attentive.

Would recommend to all looking to stay in this quiet town.
