We have just spent three nights Friday to Monday at the Wilmington with our two friends and as during our previous visits we cannot fault anything about this hotel. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean and this is down to the effortless work of Sue and her staff. Everybody on the staff from Managers to Waiting Staff to Housemaids, are so friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay go without fault. The food is very good with choices to suit all tastes.
The only minor point is the entertainment which could be of a higher standard but nevertheless there is so much to do and see, along the seafront during the evening time that this did not reflect in us enjoying our stay.
Do not hesitate to book if you are wondering about value for money, its a little gem.
Thanks Sue and Staff, we will be seeing you again.
Rooms, 225 and 228

Room Tip: Rooms 225 and 228 are lovely double rooms facing the front of the hotel, with spacious bathrooms, plenty of storage, and the softest of beds, (one double and one single) and very nicely decorated.

my stay at the new Wilmington was excellent for a small hotel the food was first class the entertainment was brilliant .The staff were really friendly nothing was too much trouble the rooms were spotless the only thing I would say its for the older or middle age group but money worth spent I would certainly go there again .

Room Tip: I think I would choose a room at the back as it would be quieter and on the third floor its hot without heating so if you feel the cold that's where I would choose

The hotel is small with only 40 rooms. I and my partner stayed in this hotel one night in June. The room was dated, but the bathroom was renovated. There was a TV in the room and tea facilities.
They served full English breakfast and also had a selection of cereals & fruits. The hotel was quite expensive for what it is, but then again we stayed there in June in the middle of Aegon International and the hotel is only 2-3 minutes walk from the courts.

Dear Gosia83

We are glad on the whole you appeared to enjoy your stay and sorry you felt it was overpriced but for a 3 star AA rated hotel we find we are comparable to others in our field.

Staff pleasant, public rooms pleasant, breakfast good and good location. Unfortunately room was poor -shinny wood chip walls, faded chintz curtains, stained and grubby carpet, tired and faded towels, view of car park and sound of extractor fan competing with the gulls. Also found stannah lifts on stairs a bit disconcerting- but this is Eastbourne! Beachy Head is convenient if it all gets a bit much.... Had checked Trip advisor before we booked- did we just get the worst room I wonder?

We booked a Saturday night stay here to meet up with some friends who live nearby. We left it a bit late and booked what was described as a "comfortable room" which we read to mean small. However, it was anything but, not a huge room but certainly not small either, a nice size. The staff were just lovely and couldn't do enough for you. The communal areas were clean and tidy and looked recently refurbished. The room we stayed in could do with a little face lift but perhaps this is on its way. A lovely central location, nice and close to the front and the pier and some fabulous pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. Fantastic breakfast too! Can highly recommend.
