Easy walking up to the old lighthouse from the car park. Very good cafe. Sandwiches and cakes made on the premises but service a bit slow at busy times.

The wind can always be a problem along the coast, Birling gap is well protected and good on the odd sunny day for a beach trip. When the surfs up, you can catch a few good waves.

A nice peaceful place. Never go there when the crowds are there. Otherwise, very very pleasant. There is a great sheep farm close by which is well worth a visit.

The view over the sea is simply breath-taking. The food at the Nationsal Trust restaurant is OK, certainly adequate for walkers. Parking is free for National Trust members.
