Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and this continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff really were outstanding. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. I would highly recommended this hotel and definitely stay stay here again.

our second stay at this hotel. great location, walking distance of Devonshire park, sea front & town centre. very friendly staff. permit parking right outside the hotel. very comfortable bed, quiet - good night's sleep. nice selection of artwork on display. would recommend.

Room Tip: we had a room facing the square & on the third floor - very quiet. there is a lift.

Thank you for the positive feedback and I agree that the front facing third floor rooms are very nice....rooms 305, 306, 307 and 308. There is a lift to the third floor but it can be rather tempermental and inclined to take the occasional day off. Still worth it for the view and the bright colours though!!!!

we stayed here for a few nights recently, the room was huge with a great view over the square and the sea. The public rooms double up as a gallery so everywhere has something interesting to look at. The Breakfast team were very accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was good - not sure about the sausages though.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

Thank you for your kind review and positive feedback. Delighted to hear that you would definitely stay here again and that you would recommend us. Regarding the sausages, a long story, but we are still trying to find a suitable supplier. My recommendation is to go for the vegetarian sausages. Linda McCartney certainly knows how to make a good sausage!!!!

The da Vinci is great! Spotless, quiet and very welcoming. The cooked breakfast was delicious.
OK, there was just one little niggle - no support handle to get out of the bath, although apparently they have them in some rooms. If you need one I'd check first. But this was more than compensated for by the very relaxing stay. Adnan, who welcomed us and chatted the next day couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

Wow. Thank you for your kind comments and sorry about the bath handle. I have asked that this be included on the works list but best to check as you say. Looking forward to your next visit.

I have a real soft spot for the Da Vinci and after four stays I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Eastbourne. Yes, there are little superficial niggles that might have some people complaining...a curtain hook missing here and there, chipped paintwork or window panes that rattle when it's breezy. But everything else about the hotel more than makes up for any minor issues. It's in a lovely part of Eastbourne and a stones throw from the seafront. I absolutely love the contemporary style, the local art that is exhibited in the public areas and the bold use of colour. The beds are big and very comfortable. There is a socket next to a decent mirror for using a hairdryer, great bedside lights for reading and excellent wifi. The televisions are a decent size and I like the fact that there is a DVD player in the room too. Perfect for evenings when you just want to chill. The service is very friendly and efficient. Apologies were made that we had to wait for our breakfast. We were a little puzzled by this as we hadn't had to wait at all! The breakfasts are delicious by the way! Do stay here if you are looking for a great value contemporay hotel that is very centrally situated. It's probably not for you if you love frills and chintz and the state of the paintwork is the be-all and end-all of a perfect stay!

Thank you for your kind review of the hotel and we appreciate your feedback as well as your custom. Your feedback is spot on and I can assure you that no one is more uptight about the 'superficial niggles' that you mention than myself. Regardless, as my site manager tells me, Rome wasn't built in a day and this hotel is a labour of love for all of us. We have been busy spending our money on decorating the public ceilings and walls. The bedrooms and bathrooms are to be done in the low season. Then the front, then the back, then the roof, then the flooring, .... In the meantime, please keep coming to visit us and thank you for your kind feedback.

An excellent choice for anyone staying in Eastbourne. Check in was very welcoming and location central. The hotel has had an upgrade and was great value for money. The rooms were of good standard and spotless.

Sadly we did not have time to sample the full breakfast as we had an early getaway. Only comment is the late start to serving breakfast which is at 8.00am when the clientele clearly would have prefered an earlier start as everyone was waiting at 8.00am.

Thank you for your kind review and sorry you missed breakfast although we do offer a buffet breakfast (tea/coffee, cereals and juice) to your room if you are leaving early. Even with our 8.00am start, the vast majority of our guests come down around 9.00am but I acknowledge that we should be a bit more flexible depending on the clientele. Regardless, thank you for your feedback and I shall look forward to seeing you again on your next stay in Eastbourne.
