“THE best live music and hospitality on the island.”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We stayed at the tamarind over the road and stumbled across this place and what a joy it is. Proper local bar with great live music and genuinely friendly staff. Jerry the owner is a top guy. You don't have to dress up to the nines to get in either which we got fed up of doing every night to get in anywhere else. The drinks are top notch and not the watered down cheap rubbish the give you at the hotel and a third of the price. Check the board out front or ask them what the entertainment is that evening. The dude on the guitar is the one you really want to see, his set was rocking.

“Actually Karibu”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

This was by far the best place we ate in Barbados, as we found the food in most other places a bit bland, the owners are very welcoming and the menu changes daily

“No thrills but nice food”
Reviewed September 5, 2012 via mobile

With first impressions being set by the dining area that resembles a front yard with a few scattered benches, and a menu which is a randomised collection of words on a blackboard, you could be forgiven for looking past Karibu and going to the more formal establishments in the area.

However, that would be a mistake. The food is extremely nice, as are the sauces and accompaniments that are provided to try with it. You get a good portion of wholesome Bajan food - I imagine it's exactly what is served in homes across the island.

The service is polite, and not overbearing. You're left to your own devices and company, but if you do need anything they're happy to help.

For a nice feed and a very authentic experience, look no further.

“Tasty Bajan food”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

We have just come back from a fabulous holiday in Barbados ... We came across the karibu whilst out walking, the food is excellent freshly cooked every day, and very good value for money unlike some of the restaurants on the west coast. We ate here several times throughout our stay.
The staff are very friendly and do a mean rum punch. They even made us food when they had finished serving. I would highly recommend for people to go and try it... Real bajan food.

“Real Barbadian food”
Reviewed May 23, 2012

Just across the road from Daphnes, this down to earth and friendly bar/caff serves up genuine Barbadian fare including fried chicken, flying fish, rice and peas and macaroni pie. Cooking is damned sight better than across the road at a fraction of the prices. Don't be put off by the homely and rather basic premises
