So, my fiance and I are getting married in October and we've been planning this wedding for what seems like months now, so we wanted to get away for a few days and the Tamarind was perfect. The hotel has received some recent renovations, mainly to the living areas of each room and upgrades to the fixtures in the bathrooms.

There are three pools (one adult only), a spa ( I recommend the salt and oil scrub), and best of all, it's literally on the best part of that stretch of the beach. Remember that the west coast of the island is the Caribbean Sea (calm, clear, and warm) and the east coast of the island is the Atlantic Ocean (six foot waves). Most of the things you're going to want to see are on the west coast as well. The Tamarind includes breakfast which was always really nice. They have happy hour each evening so don't miss those.

The Tamarind has a lot of activities on the property but on the beach you can rent jet skies/seadoos, snorkel equipment, paddle boarding, boogie boards, glass bottom boat, and catamarans. Take advantage and do them all!

One last tip. Take the buses for local excursions (restaurants in the Lime Grove area) and save your hard earned cash for taxis to Bridgetown, the interior of the island, and the east coast.

Room Tip: Don't feed the birds!

My Wife and I returned a week ago from a 10 night stay in the Tamarind Hotel and I can only say it was excellent.

We stayed in the hotel 2 years ago just after the refurbishment and enjoyed it so much we decided to return (this is the first time we have returned to any hotel) and we were not disapointed, the level of service has improved.

We initially had an ocean front room which is exactly what it is right on the beach however I do not like ground floor rooms we asked if we could change and without fuss or question were were moved to a beautiful room on the 1st floor overlooking the 246 bar and pool with sea views through the trees.

The quality of the food served at breckfast and in the 246 restaurant on the deck is first class we ate in for 3 nights and the rest in Tides, The Cliff, Lone Star etc and we found the food in the hotel to be equally as good as any of these restaurants (Sunday buffet was excelent huge selection) would reccomend the Waterfront Cafe on a Thursday for the Jazz and for some fun Oistins on a Friday all aranged by Giesel the concirege.

The Management and staff are wonderful Kim the general manager funs a tight ship and is lovely to speak with also Safiah, Jamal, Tracy Anne, Giesel, Annette head of house keeping and RodCliff to name but a few are great a pleasant smile and hello make all the difference, on the beach you have Tony at the watersports great guy and one of the independent Jetski guys Reggea Roger not pushy I explained I was not keen on Jet skis and no problem still came over an had a chat.

Great location on the west coast close to all the Restaurants, Holetown and a good walk available up the beach to Sandylane.

All in all a great destination and I would highly recomend Annette and I can't wait to return.

We have passed one week as a couple at the Tamarind and we have enjoyed every day. De staff is very friendly and great to let the guest feel comfortable. There are many offers for sport activities on the beach. For the next time in Barbados we will definitely stay at the Tamarind.

From the moment I went through reception I knew this was the Hotel for me with rum punch in hand I was escorted first to my room all instruction explained including the french door security Then round the hotel with all its attractions then to the bar where I met Arden who was to look after my refreshment's for my stay ( this guy knows how to work his bar ) I was here for the Sir Garry Sobers golf Tournament, so I was early for breakfast and back for three on the beach for an hour then shower hit the bar then out to meet up with golfers. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Tamarind in February. We will hopefully be returning next year as well. The resort catered to our every desire and the staff was amazing. We were so pleased with the cleanliness of the property as well as the constant maintenance going on daily to keep the resort looking its best. The breakfast buffet was wonderful despite the annoyance of the birds! There was always an abundance of food and wonderful selection of items. We loved ordering whatever we needed from our comfortable chairs on the beach. The passing around of morning fruit and afternoon "lol lies " was a delightful treat as well. We felt like the staff really cared about us and if we're enjoying ourselves on our trip. It was everything we expected and more!

We went here to get married and despite some decidedly unseasonal weather, we had a fabulous time. The setting is great, gym very good but what made the holiday was the staff and the food ! Very friendly staff ( special mention to Safiah at the Sugar Cane and Merica) and delicious food ( hence the need to go to the gym ! ) The Caribbean buffet night was superb. Massive choices at brakfast. The shops in the foyer are incredibly expensive ( U$ 21,000 for a necklace !) but again, friendly staff. Daphne`s is a great place to eat which is virtually part of the hotel. Take your room key(s) and get a free cocktail ( even a Bellini priced at $48 !) Our wedding arrangements were excellent ( thank you Sophia !) and we look forward to going back there one day.

Room Tip: 216 is a suite overlooking the gardens and beach.
