we have just returned from here yesterday 06/10/13 after spending our honeymoon there. firstly the room was nice and spacious but not very clean. everywhere u looked there were ants in the room...all over the floors so nothing could be left on the floor. the appearance of the hotel itself is very tired looking and could benefit from a nice overhaul. we did however recieve a free bottle of champagne on ice the following morning which was a nice suprise. the bed was awful.....felt like we were sleeping on the floor it was soo hard, by the time we left we both had terrible back ache. the hotel itself is a very confusing layout, a map wouold of been extremely helpful. the food was crap. food that should of been cold was warm and food that should of been hot was warm, it was very much the same old same old day in, day out. thank god for the salads or i wouldnt of eaten at all. the location couldnt of been better however, its located right on the beach which is rocky, but there are 2 beautiful coves for sea swimming. there are nice coastal walks either direction from the hotel and there is alot of cheap public transportation which we made the most of. five euros a day and u can pretty much go wherever u like by hopping on and off buses, but beware they do get very cramped and we hardly ever got a seat! we didnt do any of thomsons excursions due to the fact it was far far cheaper to do it by purchasing the daily bus pass and doing it ourselves. it has to be said tho that this hotel would be lost without the wonderful STELLA in the pool bar, she is simply the best! nothing was ever too much for her, always smiling and laughing, we loved her.....shame it cld not be said for Georgia the other bar maid who made u feel like asking for a drink was simply unacceptable. a smile goes along way and upon our arrival all be it 11pm, we were certainly made to feel very uncomfortable in her presence...... as for the animation team, Sian and Peter they were fantastic, always chatty and smiling, just a ashame they are so restricted upon doing what the big boss says regarding how they entertain the kids as every night its exactly the same routine and song and dance....even our child backed out of it after the 4th night due to it being so boring. i know sian and peter cld do a wicked evening for the kids if they were left to their own devices. anyways, to sum it up, we certainly wont be going back to this place and are left feeling quite disappointed as ur honeymoon cant be replaced.

Room Tip: request a sea view room

Excellent time had by all. Just got back after getting married there, from Christoph at reception, Stella behind the pool bar, Michael in the restaurant and Sian and Peter the animation team all made our time very enjoyable. Yes the hotel looks tired but who cares when your spending most of the time by the pool or on the beach. Thanks for a great time, The Sumner wedding party.

we have just returned from this hotel, food very good only downside was the breakfast was cold and I hate cold beans we did tell them but it was still cold every day. the pool very good, disappointed that the jacuzzi did not work all week I asked every day only to be told its on a timer and there is a water fall around the pool swim up bar this was only on one morning all week so this was not good. do not recommend the barbeque it was near the beach and all the meats was in trays with lids all our meat was cold, did tell the head manager only too be told sorry it because there is a breeze, not a good enough excuse . overall nice hotel plenty of weddings everyday!!!! good for a chill out, but very friendly staff .

Room Tip: pool view high floor , pool area will give you a sea view

We stayed at this hotel for 11 days, an was so ready to go home!, hotel it's self is small but clean, restaurant was small food was the same day after day, an the high chairs are a nightmare that's if u cud get one! Not much going on in this hotel for the kids, played one or two games a day that's it!, the evening entertainment is a complete joke, in the 11 days we were there we had lady ga ga very bad awful!, Elton John he was gud to be fair an one karaoke night that's it! For main season that's really bad. You cud go over to the st George hotel for so called beach party but was told we wud have to pay for drinks! Little changes wud make this hotel so great, but as it is now I wud not go bk to this hotel!:) an wud not rate it a 4 star no way a 3 at a push!

The Gardens apartments are showing their age but it is clean and well presented. We had the best room of all in my opinion. Block C room 365. It was spacious with a bedroom and a living room both with separate air conditioning units. We had both units on during the daytime and switched off the one in the bedroom at night leaving the other one to circulate cool air throughout the night. The room is at the end of the hotel ad therefore has uninterrupted panoramic views of the sea right round to the headland. Fabulous for viewing the sunsets. Below is the amphitheatre where the evening entertainment is held but this gives you a gallery view of the antics. The food I was expecting to be mediocre given that it was a family orientated hotel but in fact it was very good and actually better than some of the local restaurants we went to.

We were there for a wedding and therefore was able to compare the rooms in the main hotel. Although these rooms were as expected for the type of hotel they were tiny in comparison to our room. There was just the two of us and we could spread out unlike our friends who had very little storage space. We had everything we needed except an iron.

We used the pool from the main hotel rather than the gardens pool which was not a problem and is less congested, no music and a swim to pool bar. Drinks are expensive if you buy from the hotels. We were half board and had booked through Olympic Holidays - significantly cheaper than Thompsons. Some of the wedding guests had paid almost twice as much as us through Thompsons. If you are half board and you want to go out for the evening just swap your meal in the hotel for lunch instead- If you can manage to eat by then. There is loads of food - eat as much as you want, and believe me we did!

Don't get a taxi unless there are a few of you. 15 euros to Coral Bay or Paphos Harbour as opposed to 1 euro 50 on the bus. The busses get very packed- sardine style but it is only for max 10 mins and they are very regular. Price goes up to 2 euro 50 from 11pm. If you have purchased a day ticket it is not valid after 11pm and you will be asked to pay the 2 euro 50.

As a couple we were worried about too many kids making a noise but first week of September was quiet for kids - most having gone home for return to school but the hotel in general was not very noisy.

Thompson wedding planner was not good. Did not help the wedding party and was not to be seen until 20 mins before the wedding and then not to be seen at all afterwards. Use a local wedding planner, they are much better. Also, if you can get ,married in the chapel, it is small and intimate but beautiful. The weddings that were conducted "on the beach" which was actually on a bit of grass where the sunbeds usually reside looked tacky and sunbathers kept walking past- not good for atmosphere and photo's. Advice from a photographer- don't get too tanned before the wedding, no strap marks and if your hair is being put up do not have tendrils hanging down. It is too hot and it will look rubbish on the photo's. One girl got married with a bikini strap mark showing on her low cut back dress- not a good look! The sunset restaurant at the main hotel was where we had the reception, outside and private - people could walk past but does not impede on the event.

When we were leaving we were picked up at 4 in the morning. The hotel reception organised a wake up call and also for some breakfast to be ready for us as we would miss out being so early. Very welcome as it would be lunchtime before we would eat again.

Overall it was a very relaxing experience. It is not usual for us to stay in hotels, but it exceeded expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and go back. Don't waste your money going next door, the main hotel reception is impressive but that isn't going to make your holiday and certainly not worth the extra money!

Room Tip: Room 365 has a fabulous panoramic uninterrupted view- particularly for the sunsets.
