Firstly let me say that we stayed the end of May to early June for 2 weeks. My family was one of many that had been duped into booking a 'Premier Family', then to have the hotel removed from this 'reputable' class by First Choice. My requirements for a holiday consisted of a family friendly hotel, entertainment for the children and being on the beach.

My family arrived late at night, with two small children, 3 and 4, 4 cases and a buggy. From exiting the coach we had no assistance with luggage, followed by no assistance to the room. Our room was large, but dated, and i was disappointed, the words of other trip advisor views ringing their warnings in my ears. First impression on the charmless bar area/reception with no atmosphere at all was, i want to go home! Bedrooms are large, but I have stayed in 2* rooms at 2* star prices that had been nicer, very hard beds and tiny bathroom.

However daylight brought morning which brought our first glance at the grounds, lovely, pool area, very nice and beach. What beach? It was terrible. Our first week was lovely and relaxed, then the schools broke up and the place was packed, if you went to the pool after breakfast then you could only get a bed on the grass by the sea, no good if your little ones want to play in the pool but a lovely spot without children nagging you :)

Food at the restaurant was ok, some days better than others and more importantly the kids always had plenty. Food from the pool bar was bland, no kids portions available so always alot to be thrown out. Service in the restaurant was good for your first 2 days, you felt looked after with assistance with drinks etc, after a few days this stops completely. During our manic second week the restaurant struggled, its not nice waiting for a dish to be replenished when you have children who have quickly finished their 20th chicken nugget of the day wanting to go the show!

On to the entertainment, great if your under 10. Kids loved the minidisco, and hotel extended this part during our stay. Ampitheatre is a bit of a nightmare if you have little ones. One night we had 'Movie Night' at the pool bar... Homeward Bound! .That place was empty after 5 minutes. Some nights better than other, Greek night was boring but the fire show was great. Daytime entertainment was for older children, the kids club was awful. I had the pleasure of staying and witnessing as my daughter was 6 months short of 4, looking back im glad of this. It was torture, a woman with no natural ability with children had them sitting on a floor playing a game I didn’t understand that involved rolling a dice and eating a smartie(?) Fabulous fun for them.

This is more a wedding hotel than a family hotel, guests flock in huge groups to the hotel and only due to our lovely first week we noticed the difference this made to the hotel. By day ten me and my partner wanted to come home. This hotel put me off weddings abroad which i was looking to book after a lovely holiday in Rhodes.

If you are booking out of season, or are getting an extremely good deal then go for it. Otherwise im sure Cyprus has far better to offer, I wouldn’t consider staying here again nor recommending, for the small fortune we spent I was expecting better.

we came back yesterday from this hotel, we were advised this was a 4 star hotel when we booked, we wanted something special for our honeymoon but decided with the prices at the moment 4 star would surfice, i would say this was a 3 star at the most rooms were outdated and our room was poorly maintained, the doors wouldnt lock after the first day, this may have been because i pulled it too hard, but they did fix it the day before we come home.
this is the first holiday in cyprus and wouldnt put me off going back there, there was poo in the pool 7 days out of our 14 days holiday, which maintenence were reluctant to do anything about, one of the days the guests removed it from the pool them selves, once they checked the pool they threw in lots of bleach to compensate, so much it hurt peoples eyes,
food was acceptable, nothing special. the day trips that were offered were really good value, my 6 yr old loved the musketeer trip and the water park. but it is a good hour and half from the hotel to the water park.
the childrens entertaintment were good with the kids, but the hotel run kids club was ok but didnt want to be bothered with children it seemed like she was happy for them to be there but not to have fun,
also this hotel was listed with a steam room and sauna these were not functioning when we got there, also you have to provide your own table tennis bats and balls and for pool you need to take your own set with you,
this was made an excellent trip by the people we met and the fun we had,

Room Tip: room above the reception has an excellent view

Have not got a bad thing to say. wonderful holiday, fantastic food, good quality drinks, large rooms kept very clean by the maid, the most amazing views from balcony, very comfortable sunbeds etc etc. I don't understand the negative reviews, it was a fantastic holiday! Ok it's a trek into Paphos but it does say that in the brochure!!!! Lovely helpful staff, special mention to Betina and Taras? And a very special mention to Stella and her cocktails!! Lovely! The entertainment team,Caz,Rich,Alex,Christian,Daisy etc worked so hard and were great fun. If you have booked to go there you will have a great time! Can't wait until next year.

Dont be put off this hotel, the food was very good and varies every night. The facilities were very good along with the entertainers, Caz, Christian, Daisy, Alex and Rich. They entertained both mr 11 yo daughter and 4 yo son both in the day time and the evening. Although the daytime entertainment was more pointed towards my daughter, my son visited the kids club 10.30-12.30 only twice because he preferred the pool with made friends. We hired a car for 4 days to get visit other areas of Cyprus (recommended) just to break up the time. Overall we would go back to the same hotel.

Room Tip: Book a family suite low to pool, it gives 2 beds in the living area and a separate bedroom for adult...

We recently returned from this hotel (5th August) after booking in January 2012. On booking the hotel we were impressed with the write up and reviews which at the time also referred to the St. George Hotel next door and the shared amenities. Unfortunately reviews from March onwards this year were correct and we found that we were unable to use our all inclusive status at the St. George Hotel. Having previously stayed in four and five star hotels this is definitely not one of them. For us as a family with a fifteen year old and six year old the location was perfect but the food was just OK, the cleanliness was just about acceptable (clean where you can see being the motto) infact on our first view of the bathroom we found lots of long dark hairs stuck behind the bathroom door, none of us have dark hair! Some of the staff were great whilst others seemed over worked and miserable. The reservation of sunbeds was apalling some people were out at 6.30am and if you were down anytime after 8.00am you really had no chance of a sunbed at all, never mind being near the pool or the beach.
All that said, in our experience it wasn't as horrific as some of the reviews state. The rooms were fine but dated, the bar area and terrace were great, the pool was fine for kids and adults and it's just small things that stop the hotel going from an OK to a good. So if your waiting to go don't stress but don't expect four star luxury.

Just returned from the St George Family Gardens today. What a great place. Ignore any poor reviews this is a lovely hotel. The staff are very hard working and are always polite. The place is clean and there is plenty to do, many different activities throughout the day for all ages. Excellent selection of food and the variety changes throughout the week. Really enjoyed it, nothing to fault. Only slight issue was that first choice appear to be skimping a bit, no in flight film or meal and the reps just do the minimum required. This is not a reflection on the hotel which is absolutely great. Will more than likely rebook for next year!!

We had a change this year after having loved the Turquoise Hotel in Turkey so much we went 3 years in a row! Were worried St George Gardens wouldn't live up to expectations, but it exceeded them!
We had a fantastic room (102) right next door to the restaurant, and overlooking the pool & the sea. As it was a corner room, we had lovely big windows on 2 sides & in the bedroom. Plenty of space for us & our 2 kids, and loads of wardrobe & drawer space too.
Food was excellent & varied, always something to suit all 4 of us (Kids 9 & 13). Drinks on tap and helpful & friendly waiting staff.
Whole hotel was clean & tidy, pool area well kept & pool itself was really nice.
Entertainment crew worked really hard and were really friendly fun bunch. We were lucky, had a great crowd of guests when we stayed who were happy to join in & have fun! Some great games of Water Polo & Beach Volleyball. Caz lead her staff well, and Daisy, Rich, Christian, Christina & Alex did all they could to make sure everyone had a great time not only during the day, but during the eveings too, as they put on shows & sang songs. Kids also loved the mini disco which again, the entertainment team genuinely enjoyed too.
Haven't got a bad thing to say about the place, nor the staff (special mention to Irena & to Stella for her infamous cocktails!) but all staff were great, helpful & friendly. Would definately go again and would recommend to anyone!
And if you don't fancy the fun & games around the pool, you could always head over to The St George pool which is a little quieter & more subdued, so something for everyone!
Was a bit out from Resort centre, but the bus stop was just across the main road, and for only a euro each, you could hop on a bus & go to the harbour or wherever! Our youngest was free!

Room Tip: There are 6 floors, rooms start on 1st, along with restaurant, pool & bar etc on ground floor. T...
