The beautiful setting of this restaurant caught our eye whilst passing through Kathikas so we decided to give it a try...and it did not disappoint!
The menu is fairly small but what it lacks in the number of dishes available it more than makes up for in taste and quality. Our first visit we had stifado & giaourtlou (both amazing!) and our second visit we opted for meze. This place is hands down the best meze we have had anywhere in Cyprus. The dishes are so different to the standard tourist meze served up elsewhere and were served slowly without feeling like you we're being rushed through.
The staff are friendly and welcoming without being intrusive and help to create a very relaxed evening.

We've been to Cyprus four times and this has been a real gem of a find. It is a little off the beaten track but its well worth the journey...for the milky pie dessert alone!

What a fantastic place, we ate here 3 times in the week we stayed near Kathikas. All the food we had was outstanding and the Meze was the best we have ever had, with some unusual dishes. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We will without a doubt return.

We were keen to try a traditional meze but were put off by some of the greasy looking offerings (with chips!!) that we'd seen elsewhere. So, after reading recommendations on TripAdvisor, we decided to drive up into the hills from the Sea Caves area to try this tavern. It's only a fifteen minute drive and the views alone are worth the trip but the tavern turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday!
We arrived at around 1pm so we were the only people there for a while but the owner made us incredibly welcome and could not have been more friendly or helpful. He was very happy to talk about the dishes, local produce (such as the great local wines), local attractions, walks, places of interest. The restaurant itself was very tastefully decorated with rustic artefacts that perfectly suited the feel of the whole village. We chose to eat inside but there was also a lovely outdoor area over the road.
The meze itself was a complete revelation for me. From fresh breads and salads to grilled meats, cheeses, mushrooms and prawns, every dish was a treat and no two tasted the same. Everytime I thought I could eat no more, a couple more dishes would arrive and tweak my appetite a little more. By the time a final dish of traditional desserts arrived I was fit to burst.
For all of this we paid just 17 Euros each. Unbelievable value.
In short, if you go nowhere else whilst in Cyprus, go here!

Just finished an amazing meze and not a bad thing to say about the food, host, venue or atmosphere! Loved it and will be back again soon :)

To begin, this place is set in the village square which gives it a rustic feel and the decor and staff definitely inspire a warm cosy experience. The best item on this place's menu is its MEZE which is a series of small portioned dishes that range from dips and salads to exotic Greek cheeses, wood oven baked bread (that's baked on site), grilled meat and seafood, wild mushrooms, prawn saganaki (prawns panfried with tomato and fetta cheese flavoured with ouzo), fetta saganaki and finishing with homemade local desserts including walnut cake smothered in chocolate, baklava, halva and fruit conserves.
