“Preferable to Venice...!”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Sine we ate at Patrick's last August, my wife and I have Been trying to work out a way to come back and stay. A special birthday gave the opportunity but I offered a choice: Venice or Patricks. She chose Patricks, so we went out at the beginning of February.
Nearness had just come back from two weeks away and they had really hit the ground running. We had a wonderful dinner on Friday evening and stayed in number four, which is actually nicer than it looks in the photos.
We were just about able to eat breakfast – still fairly full from the night before! – Before going out for the day. We came back and had another dinner but there was no way we could have the third course! Still full of breakfast, but managed to eat most of a wonderful full English.
The rooms look a bit pricey but if you compare that with the area, they are competitive – they are better than the average and not unreasonable in context.
We love it and we will come again.

Room Tip: Reserve your room early or you might find your first choice is not available!

Highly recommended. A fabulous place to stay. We enjoyed every minute of it. Location excellent. Our only regret was that we were unable to find the time to have dinner. The room was very luxurious and comfortable and the bathroom opulent. I particularly enjoyed the "magic mirror" in our room (Room 10) as it made me look very tall and thin and encouraged me to eat even more! The breakfast was superb - try the Welsh breakfast with laverbread and cockles. Home baked bread every morning and freshly squeezed juice were real treats. The staff were all superb - very well trained but didn't seem to be "making an effort" to be friendly and helpful. I also had the best bloody mary of my life. I didn't want to go home to the inevitable January diet .... We will be back, but will eat in the restaurant next time. Well done to all

Stayed for New Year's Eve. Staff had made a huge effort to please everyone. Food was delicious and varied and so much of it! The room (The Pink One!) was such a lovely surprise. It was very large, warm and comfortable but best of all was the amazing view. The picture window and Juliet Balcony overlooks the bay and for once it wasnt raining. Such a great way to start the year. This is in an ideal position to explore the Mumbles and Gower coast. Would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: I believe all of them have a sea view.

Yet again, we had a lovely meal in Patricks, the only problem being that we ordered the bread and really didn't need it with the banquet that followed. As usual, we had a cocktail, too much good wine, too much bubbly and were pushed over the edge with the digestif! What a lovely evening in beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately, this time we didn't stay, but spent the evening wishing that we had booked a room. Thankfully, there's always next time...

Excellent central location in the Mumbles. All the staff were extremely helpful and really helpful, very impressed.

The beds comfortable and showers excellent pressure. Enjoyed the theme in room. All the necessary products in the bathroom. A bit of a dusting in some areas though!

The food is excellent, compliments to the chef. The staff know their wines which is very impressive.

We stayed in room 2 in the Boat House which is actually in a separate building behind the restaurant. It's accessed via a short but steep hill so not one to tackle in heels.

Our room was large, bright and airy. The decorator obviously had a sense of humour with beach hut changing rooms instead of wardrobes which added a sweet kind of quirkiness.

Like the room the bathroom was large with a bath and separate walk-in shower. Nice little touches included robes and handy hooks above the radiators for ensuring towels were toasty warm.

Only downside was slight dustiness on the extractor fan and loo roll holder and although the sink was ultra modern and swish, I would have liked more shelf space for toiletries.

Free wifi that actually worked was a bonus and the bed was really comfortable.

Breakfast was very nice, although ever so slightly let down by concentrated orange juice, which was odd given the quality of the rest of the food.

It wasn't a cheap stay, but we'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed here again last week after my first visit earlier in the summer. This time I had one of their standard rooms, which was very nice indeed, all of the expected facilities, a very comfortable bed and the room had a pleasant view. Sat in the bar in the evening enjoying their wine till quite late. Breakfast was obercooked ,so I didn't eat much or enoy it, coffee and orange juice were good.

The staff here are really excellent, very pleasant and helpful.Despite the breakfast I shall stay here again.
