I am a vegan coeliac so I am always impressed when a restaurant is able to simply cater for me, however The Kitchen Table takes it further with its inspirational style throughout the food and surroundings.
The only thing that has stopped me from going since is , the last time I visited I ordered their beautiful vegan gluten free breakfast and when it arrived the portion size had shrunk to something rather upsetting especially for the price but I was willing to look past it as there was bread where there once was not. I double checked as I do with the waiter that the bread was gluten free and it turned out that it was not. It is actually rather harmful for me to consume. Still , being a patient person I was willing to look past it as I had such a pleasant experience before.
Unfortunately, the bread was simply just taken off the plate and the plate handed back to me with the pitiful amount of food left looking lonely on the plate.
I got the impression that I would have gotten the common decent gesture of compensating for the whole situation with a little extra portion of something at least, but they were quite happy for a customer to go away with that level of service in mind.
I really hope it turns around as they are one of few establishments offering vegan and gluten free options and these groups of people rely heavily on recommendations and trust when picking places to dine out in.
