I was recommended by a friend of mine and he was absolutely right. We have a very enjoyable and memorable stay over there. I cannot believe the price we paid for a hotel that has such modern amenities such as jacuzzi, flat screen etc.

Staff was very friendly and our rooms were thoroughly cleaned everyday. The bonus is that the hotel is located just a street across the most beautiful beach on the island.

Will strongly recommend it to anyone.

I would highly recommend Pereybere Hotel - www.pereyberehotel.com as one of the best leisure budget hotel not only in Mauritius but in the Indian Ocean. I had a really nice stay with great cuisine and warm mauritian hospitality. The Sea was absolutely wonderful, nice oceanic view , also nearby shops and exciting leisure attractions. In the north, great places to visit. Casino and night life also too good.
Planning to stay at pereybere hotel http://www.pereyberehotel.com , I would recommend anyone planning a trip to Mauritius.

My wife and I have been to Mauritius a number of times but it was the first time that we have stayed at the Pereybere hotel in Mauritius. I had a chance to look at the other reviews and I can only described my own personal experience.

The transfers were arranged by the hotel and on each way, the driver was punctual and very friendly.

The rooms were cleaned everyday and the size of the rooms is very generous in space. We found the staff to be very friendly and has always been very responsive to our needs. The room we had even had a jacuzzi.

The cherry on the cake is the location of the hotel. It is truly in front of the best beach on the island and has got excellent transpotation links to the northern parts of the island (where normally the best beaches are). There are plenty of small shop to grab a bite and relatively cheap and I agree with the other reviewers that the fish restaurant in front of the hotel is one of the best on the island.

To conclude it is really a value of money hotel and i will definitely recommned it to anyone who want to be pampered by white powdery sand and crystal waters.

out of interest I was flicking through reviews here and came across the Pereybere Hotel and from one of the reviews i thought they must have been staying at a different place than we were so felt I had to balance the argument.

We had been to Mauritius before and had liked Pereybere so decided to stay there for 3 weeks last Christmas, what agood choice it was! Transport was arranged through them to and from the airport and was on time both ways with friendly drivers. We had a 2 bed apartment that was huge, jacuzzi bath, big living area with a big kitchen even though we only really used the fridge freezer.

The first day we found the plug on the kettle had broken, it was fixed within the hour, the cleaning was the best we have ever had in an apartment, everyday, and not just cleaned but everything tidyed up as well even our clothes that we had left lying around. We never had to ask for anything and there was always a happy smiling face on reception as we waled past, I cant remember all the names but Tapha was in charge and was always friendly and ready for a chat.

The location is superb, right across the road form the beach, with a fantastic little stall that does rotis and samoosas and tehre are a number of excellent restaurants within 5 minutes walk, we only ventured into Grand Bay one evening and decided we didnt need dto bother again. particularly as the Monkey Bar had gone since the last time we were there.

The day we left our plane was about 2300 so we were being picked up at about 1930 and the room had to be empty by 1200, even though they were full a quick word with Tapha resulted in us being able to stay in our room until we were collected at no extra cost.

I would agree with the girl that the fish restaurant just outside was superb and would recommend that but i would also recommend 100% the Pereybere hotel and apartments.

To to justify that we booked last February to go back this Christmas and New Year for another 3 weeks. We are seasoned travellers around the world for over the last 25 or so years, various places around Thailand ,Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong , the Caribbean and South Africa and this is the first time we have been back to the same accommodation! and we have stayed in some fantastic hotels, particularly in the Far East.

Anyway dont just take my word for it try it yourself!
Marc

I'm not a fussy traveller, as long as rooms are clean that's fine for me, I don't look for frills. The room in the end was not bad, quite spacious, but the fridge wasn't cleaned for a long time and the wardrobe was pretty smelly inside. The safe is not electronic like it says on the website, so you always have to carry the key with you and of course they're not responsible of any loss.
The bathroom needs to be renovated, but as long as it's that the problem for me it's fine. Water of the shower though, was splashing through the pipe, there were ants and I saw a beetle on the last night.
Rooms were at the price of euro 50 with no breakfast, I was offered seaview for an additional 5 euro. Well, I knew that the hotel was on the street, but you can barely see some blue water through the trees. Beside you could hear the traffic from the road, so I'd suggest a room not facing the road if you want to have a good night sleep.
Towels were most of the time dirty, so I had to ask if I could get it replaced. I had to ask for toilet paper a few times, they provide the very cheap one that (well, excuse me) last very little and they give you just one roll (how to keep expenses at the minimum).
There's no reasturant in the hotel, if you want to have breakfast included, you have to go to another place 50 meter far.
The swimming pool is very tiny, probably 3x4 meters and it has only two sunbeds. It's in a weird position (at the entrance of the hotel and facing the reception) and this spots is never sun exposed.
I cannot say staff were the friendliest, so I talked to them just the minimum. This is not my attitude as I always enjoying having a chat with local people, but they have a sort of attitude of I don't care who you are of where you are from.
However, the beach is just crossed the street. Small, but precious, the water is very clean and clear; quite in June, I guess there are more tourists in July or August. Pereybere is just a tiny little village, but you can find some good restaurants where dishes are very cheap, a couple of fruit kiosks, only a shop for groceries (you have to ask, you cannot serve yourself as all their good are behind the glass) and an ATM.
Bus service is excellent and in only 5 minutes you're in Grande Baye with more shops, supermarkets and banks. Although the beach is not nice, but you can go to Cap Malhereux (5 minutes on the north) or Mont Choisy and Trou the Biches.
In the end I'd suggest this hotel just for a night or two if you're travelling around, not for a whole holiday. I saw some much nicer places in Pereybere and next time I'd definitely go somewhere else.
