This is a private tour with experienced Capt. Helge Ljones aboard his beautiful and comfortable yacht - that he describes accurately. We opted for the additional helicopter component, as well as the seafood lunch. Words cannot describe the overall experience - to say it was wonderful doesn't do it justice. It was simply spectacular - from start to finish. Capt. Helge is meticulous in his attention to detail and providing you with the utmost in comfort and luxury. We wanted for nothing during our day-long trip.

We were cruising on the Viking Jupiter with a stop in Stavanger. The boat dock was a short (5 minute) walk away. We cruised through the city harbour and out into the fjords. The scenery is breath-taking and we stopped at several points of interest - waterfalls, caves, stone hearts, pulpit rock. Around every bend was another beautiful piece of nature. We were fortunate weather-wise to be able to sit on the front of the boat (with blankets and comfortable seats) to explore this scenery. We stopped at a small farmhouse property tucked in a quiet bay for our helicopter ride and subsequent lunch.

The helicopter ride, which afforded the aerial views of what we had seen on the water, was as unparalleled to the yacht. The pilot was excellent, the helicopter (which could seat 6 passengers) was state-of-the-art. Safety was never an issue. We saw the top of the fjord lakes, valleys, and viking--show village, and pulpit rock. Again, the scenery was amazing. Do not miss the opportunity to take the helicopter ride.

We returned to the yacht for our seafood luncheon - clams, blue mussels, king crab legs, and shrimps. Champagne, strawberries, and chocolate. We were three in number, but could have fed six people easily. Nothing was skimped on. The quality was excellent!

As experienced boaters, the overall cost was comparable to other private charters. For others, it may seem a bit costly, but trust me, it is worth every penny. It was a once-in-lifetime journey that will leave you with unforgettable memories that are not easily attained.

Four of us joined Captain Helge Ljones for a magnificent cruise up the Lysefjord this past summer (2018). I cannot say enough about how perfect the day was - the yacht is extremely comfortable and modern, the scenery was breathtaking, and best of all, Helge was the most amazing captain and tour guide we could have hoped for. Helge is extremely friendly, very knowledgeable about all things Norway and just a pleasure to spend the day with. I highly recommend this cruise to anyone who wants to spend a perfect day on the fjord.

A perfect day: the weather, the boat, the food, the helicopter ride. Captain Helge was a perfect host. After enjoying a boat trip with all kinds of amenities, the perfect culmination was the Helicopter ride. Seeing from the air all that impressive landscape was the perfect end to a trip like this. The price is expensive, but I would highly recommend this to any one. Having the two perspectives of the fjords is something unimaginable. My 3 children and I enjoyed it every minute.
