“Pleasant lunch on Sunday”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

We had a meal here on a quiet Sunday. We had checked out of our apartment, and were to leave that afternoon, but were surprised to see that very few of the many bars and restaurants were open by noon on Sunday. We chose this one because it opened at 1.30pm. It has a pleasant atmosphere, and with so few people about, excellent service. The food was good, althogh not outstanding, but the ambience, and a great baby boomer playlist as background music made for a very pleasant lunch. The decor is interesting - historical shipping trade artifacts, and the location on the harbour lovely for an after lunch stroll.

“Average food, average service”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Had lunch outside, and it was true average. Not many options on the menu and two of them were not available that day.... had a tapas platter to share. Ok but not more than ok. When it comes to service, was not bad but nothing to remember either, plain average all the way.....

“One of our favourite spots”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

This is one of our "go to" restaurants in Stavanger. Service and good are very good. It has a casual atmosphere downstairs that we really like a lot. Good for family and also for gathering with friends. Price is reasonable for Stavanger.

“Traditional Fare in Stavanger”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

I had heard some raving reviews about this restaurant so we and other colleagues; that had come on a business trip, came out to this restaurant on a Thursday night. The place seemed a little packed so we got our name on the list and then came to the adjoining bar room. The wait time seemed a bit excessive but since we were 6 people I figured that a table was hard to come by. The food here is traditional except for a dish or two on the dinner menu (not sure if there is a lunch menu or not). We all ordered something different ranging from a burger to a grilled sirloin with a Thai dish thrown in for good measure. The sirloin was well done and a little tough but the sauce it came with was good. The burger was okay and the Thai dish (noodles) was okay as well. One thing that anyone can tell you is that Norway in expensive and Stavanger even more so with the concentration of Oil & Gas industry’s base here. Overall the food was good but it wasn't anything special. We just visited this place once during our entire stay in Stavanger for three weeks. I will recommend this place just to try the food here if you want, but there are other options in Stavanger that are moderately priced for a night out on town that are better food wise.

“Expensive and average”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

Norway is extremely expensive, but without the added value that usualy comes with higher spend. Fortunately, the nature is free, so find your value there and not in restaurants! Food was distinctly ordinary, the use of frozen vegetables was not a plus in my book. The seafood pasta had a few tiny flavoursome prawns and a little more flavourless fish.
